With the newest announced change of a PvP toggle being added, thousands rejoice for npt having to run from fights. However, swimming speed, which was gutted for the exact reason of being used to escape PvP, seems to be going a bit too much off-radar.

Remove the swimming speed loss in combat. Diving sets, that are most commonly made with a theurgist set and multiple musgravites have to be patched together with enchants to allow any viability in PvE, are pretty much unusable in PvP. As such, any sane and reasonable diver will keep their toggle turned off, as they don’t stand a chance.
It would be plainly stupid to keep this, as at that point, it would lose its original and only purpose of stopping divers from escaping PvP. The diving speed loss would only serve to let sharks catch up to you.

I’m the author and I think I did a reasonably good job

i lost 300k gambling creating my swimming set

pvp being a toggle isnt gonna magically fix swim speed being an issue

How so? At the very least, players with the pvp being off shouldn’t suffer.

Alternate Solution:
Swimspeed jewels being disabled in combat only applies if you have PvP enabled.

Then everyone’s happy… except for the leaderboard runners.

We need shipless sea combat to be normalised. It’s so fucking cool to move in all three dimensions and drown.
