Waves crashed against the base of the sailboat, it sails out as it caught the sharp winds. The Sailboat moved across the blue-colored seas with ease. Jons stood at its front, looking onward into the far seas of the horizon. “Quite the view eh! well whatcha think kid?” Jons slowly looked down at Lelantos, who was crouched down, his hands firmly gripping the railing as he looked at the same sight Jons set his sight on. “It is… but why is it so blue Mr. Fisher?” Lelantos asked with a curious look on his face, looking at Jons who was still standing at the edge. “Because of the sun or something kid, don’t expect this fisherman to know anything about your questions… unless it’s about fish that is.” Jons spoke again, his body not budging even if the sailboat swayed due to the waves. Lelantos quickly found himself getting seasick again, which was the main reason he was crouched down and gripping the railings. His rather skimpy body could not handle all the swaying of the sailboat, yet Jons was still seemingly unfazed by any of this. “J-Just h-how can you handle all o-of this Mr. F-Fisher?” Lelantos slowly asked, the sea sickness being the reason he was buckled down and clinging to the wooden rails. Jons only chuckled as he looked down at the boy again, a wide smirk plastered on his face, “It being a fisherman kid, one hell of a fisherman just like me!” Jons said as a chuckle soon followed too. “Don’t be a baby now, you’ll get used to it fairly quickly!” Jons spoke again, he could already see how the seasickness was getting to Lelantos. “Yea… fairly quickly Mr. Fisher…” Lelantos said weakly, his voice already strained from the increasing sea sickness. “Don’t vomit on the board kid, just do it in the ocean, feed the fishes a bit eh?” Jons chuckled again, showing off his rather proud demeanor while he was in the sea. But as he looked away from the far seas and back at Lelantos, he was already vomiting, his head over the railing. “Well… looks like it came sooner than I expected it…” Jons slowly said, remembering his first time getting seasick, the good old days.
It was nice feeling the soft sheets of the bed and the warm cotton blanket over him, it sure did help his seasickness. Lelantos made sure his head was perfectly placed on his pillow, as he slowly warmed up the bed himself through his body heat. He slowly shifted his head to the side, seeing the plate of food Jons left there for him. The plate had some sliced fish on it, cooked well enough with an egg on the side. Lelantos did not get the meaning of the egg, from what he had learned through some reading, it was a morning dish and not a lunch dish. Near the plate was a little note Jons seemed to have written, it said “Kid, hope ya like fish and eggs… because that’s the only thing y’all be eating on this sailboat! Put some meat on that little skinny body of yours will you?”. It felt like Lelantos could hear his accent even though it was just a note, Jons’s way of speaking just stuck on him for some reason. Lelantos pushed himself up to a sitting position, slowly reaching over as he took the plate of food in hand. He slowly picked up the cooked fish as he could barely feel its warmth. So being the smart kid he is, he slowly started to chow down on it quickly. He could feel sharp things poking his mouth, yet he endured it and slowly ate the thing whole. “Egh… what kind of taste and texture is that?” Lelantos slowly said, before starting to munch on the egg, it was much more, pleasant to eat and swallow down. Overall it felt good to feed his stomach again, much better than moving around with seasickness and an empty stomach. Lelantos slowly shifted himself off the bed, planting his feet firmly on the wooden floor as he got up. Slowly walking to the door, he opened it slowly, walking out into the hallways. The boy found himself out on the front decks again, the seas were much calmer in the night. The gentle winds blew against Lelanto’s face as they slowly carried the sailboat at a slower pace on the seas. The Moon reflected the sun’s rays into the sea, giving it a gentle dim blue color. It looked much more gentle than the sun’s rays during the day, it was also a bit more chilly.
“Hey kid, whatcha doing up so late?” Lelantos heard that voice, turning around to see Jons sitting on the railing of the sailboat, fishing rod in hand. Having a toothpick in his mouth, the moonlight highlighted his rather fit-tanned arms, but also his pot belly underneath his long shirt. His hair was also highlighted, showing off its rather curly and fluffy texture, given its dark brown color. “I couldn’t sleep…” Lelantos said with a soft voice. “Come, then lemme teach you a bit about fishing. After all, I’m quite the expert!” Jons spoke with a chuckle, patting the railing spot next to him. Lelantos walked over, his hands gripping onto his railing as he tried to fully push himself up. Before he could lose his grip and fall overboard, Jons grabbed the back of his robe, holding Lelantos with ease. “Watch out, ya doofus!” Jons said, pulling the boy onto the railing close to him. The boy sat there, his face flushed with embarrassment as Jons let his gaze fall into the sea now. The fisherman gripped the fishing rod with both hands now, his gaze hardening where his string sunk into the dark waters. Lelantos looked on with curiosity, a bit dumbfounded by the way Jons’s eyes were staring intently at the sea. Before the boy could react, sudden movements were caught in the fisherman’s eyes as he grabbed the reel handle, pulling it with blitzing speeds. Jons’s arms tensed up, and his biceps flexed along with his forearms as he quickly pulled the fishing rod. A huge shadow cast onto both of them, the boy saw Jons fall back off the railing and onto the board, as a huge thud was heard. Slowly looked backward, finding a gigantic long fish flopping on the ground, splashing water all over the deck. Jons had himself lying on the deck close to the fish, his fishing rod still held tightly in his hand. “Wow… Mr. Fisher that’s a really big fish!” the boy said, a certain light in his dark eyes, giving away a glint of his childlike essence.
“We’re here kid, get your stuff ready!” Jons yelled out into the sailboat’s hallway. He could hear the boy quickly shuffle to get his stuff, it was a bit comical. He walked out onto the deck and saw the distant island, a 3-day trip to make it here was quite the generous offer the wind gave Jons. It would take about a full week to reach this island from Doomera on most occasions. “I’m Here Mr. Fisher!” Lelantos quickly yelled out, running onto the front deck, all of his stuff just stuffed into a metal-lined bag in the shape of a cylinder. The boy sighed as he walked closer to Jons, it was clear his new outfit was quite the eye-catcher. “I wore the clothes you gave me… aren’t they a bit heavy tho…?” Lelantos slowly spoke, looking at his outfit. A black tight undershirt outlined his slender frame, and his cargo pants had a brownish beige to their color. His footwear was steel-tipped sturdy boots that had a nice clean black color on them. Lelanto’s fluffy and messy black hair was slightly pulled back into a short ponytail, a nice style given to him by Jons. “Ya looking as fine as a Tyche’s magazine Model!” the fisherman said with a proud look, patting the boy on his back. Lelantos looked a little embarrassed at the way Jons complimented him. “Anyways, take a look at your new home for a bit, A new adventure on this sandy island!” Jons said, his hand on the boy’s shoulder as he turned Lelantos to look forward at the island they were getting close to.
“The Sandy Island, Savaria!”
