Currently, as a lower ranking member of a clan, building is hard. You have to spend all your real galleons, there’s no way to safely store them in case you die, and all structures are just so expensive. Another bad aspect is that farms are basically useless unless you’re a high rank. Clan building just isn’t worth it for lower ranks.

That’s where my suggestion comes into play.


Personal clan treasuries

For every rank that does not have access to the main treasury, they will instead have a personal treasury. This functions identically to the regular treasury, but is, well, personal.
The personal treasury will have a capacity of half the ‘main’ treasury. (so at the first clan tier, 50k)
The player can freely deposit galleons into their personal treasury, and the galleons from farms also get deposited into the personal treasury. If the personal treasury is full, the excess money gets deposited into the main clan treasury

This way, lower ranking members can still experience clan building, without having to waste actual ‘useful’ galleons.

But you might wonder, how will clans be able to get money in the main treasury now? Since almost all money from farms would go to personal treasuries.
That’s where the second part of the suggestion comes into play.


Clan tax change

Another nearly pointless aspect of clans is the clan tax. It affects most ways you earn galleons, but most of the time you earn so few galleons that the tax is basically pointless. This is also the reason why the vast majority of clans just ignore this feature entirely.

So, why not make the clan tax only work on farms made through clan building.

With people now being incentivised to build personal farms/load builds with farms due to the personal treasury, a clan tax on farmed galleons makes a lot more sense.

This way, tax feels like it actually supports the clan, since clan farms usually produce quite a lot of galleons, instead of just taking away galleons from the small amount that you earn from doing random tasks (which doesn’t even compare to the amount you can get from a single harvest on a large island).

That’s definitely a tricky one. I think that, for balance reasons, setting a capacity for this personal treasury is a thoughie. Let’s take the example you gave of the first infamy tier. 50k, for one player, is already a lot, making the feature seem unbalanced, yet it’s also very little for structures, only giving the player access to lower tier ones. For the tax part of the suggestion, I feel like adding a tax to said treasury would be beneficial to both the clan, and the balance of this feature. If no such tax is applied clans will be flooded with freeriders who just profit off of the usefulness of such storage, whereas a tax could be set through negociation between a clan’s leaders and its members in order to satisfy both parties. Anyhow I do believe that this problem is quite a real one, so I do personally appreciate your suggestion

Interesting idea, but I can’t help but feel some big tweaks are needed…
