Cloth Physics On a Navy Cape!

Boys, we did it! Cloth physics on a remodel! They’re a bit extreme, so I’ll tweak them later, but I hope you guys like it. This works on all capes, so I could just rig any of the current AO capes (preferably a remodel of them) and then this would work, in other words, add this. Anyways! This works on hair cards, handlewrap cards and cloth cards too, basically letting me make physics for anything under the sun for zero performance cost! This is 3k tris and works like a wonder. I’ll see you all at the sunken sword, just thought I should document this giant discovery.

Damn, that’s really, only issue is cloth physics would decimate my laptop, so… Yeah, still liking it :+1:

it actually has 0 fps cost or performance cost, no worries, i happen to use a shitty laptop myself

Oh rlly?? Then I hope to see it one day in AO, possibly around the time the Nimbus Sea or the next next sea is released.

It isn’t a jacket cape so its immediately an improvement from whatever the navy is wearing.

actual cape physics in roblox games is honestly unheard of and I’d love to see that change, even if it does clip a little.

fuck
also, wish i could’ve fixed the clipping, i might be able to after i tweak the settings but no guarentees, but that’ll take a long time so im leaving it for later

Bro this is not just a physical clowk but a Ruined Grand Navy Cloak just like the ruined justice cloak in aa

what if the front was also affected by wind  ( but just less because its heavier )

i could do that but i wouldn’t make it flutter to much since it’d just look silly if i did

Cloaks and capes getting battle-damaged like other clothes do is a really cool idea

are you using smartbone? you could script it to turn the stiffness up while walking backwards, this wont fix clipping when turning fast or jumping though, youll have to wait until the module creator adds physics for that

i am using smartbone, i’ll try that, thanks!

This is what I need in game

This is super awesome! Having things like these would make the game feel more polished. Also by hair cards, does that mean that you can add physics to hair also?

we need this man as a modeller in ao

hair cards are basically just more optimized hair, it’s the stuff you see in triple a games, i mentioned it since games that fromsoftware makes use it on their handles to make it look like bits of cloth and handlewrap coming off of them and waving around

but yeah it’d work on the current hair meshes (although i dont recommend it due to the fact that it’d look silly with how the physics are currently)
