Comparison of zero atk speed vs 210 atk speed for weapons

the micro cuts are to sync exactly when the abilities start
i determined when each ability started by going frame by frame and seeing when my vertical velocity from jumping would stop (ie when my elevation is identical between 2 frames)

i would’ve recorded on my main where i have 290 atk speed but… inventory too laggy

remember, with 3 atk speed = 1 power in terms of efficiency points, you could alternatively get 70 power for this much atk speed investment

edit: i said atk size in the title for some reason i am stupid

how is the .2 seconds you lose from attack speed worthy of three separate nerfs, while attack size is untouched?

the urge to ping meta for his thoughts on this is strong

Yet another day of casual players getting hit by strays due to pvp balancing

this isn’t even a “hur dur pvp is different at the highest level :nerd_face:

it’s only that obnoxious bc of the magic scaling for atk speed being bonkers which is being heavily nerfed soon, removing the need to further nerf atk speed

i keep saying, 210 atk speed is equal to 70 power in terms of efficiency points
does this look like an investment worth losing 70 power over?

tldr veto the atk speed nerf

Casual builds don’t exist and it genuinely hinders the game so much

@Meta

what do you think of this?

As much as I’d love for this nerf to get vetoed, I’m 100% certain it’ll go through regardless of what evidence is brought up

i hate how you’re right and there’s nothing me or the community can do about it

balance team stopped listening to us after ds dropped anyways

Certainly not the first time I’ve seen a roblox game do that

erm nerf thermo :fire::coffin:

My thoughts remain the same until I see the difference in a fight.

I will say it again; attack size will get a nerf but only for size stacking builds for v1.17, unless size proves to be meta before then in which it will be bandaided with an efficiency nerf like Attack Speed. Attack Speed will also likely get a new formula for v1.17 and go back to 50% efficiency.

fyi, it’s probably a bad idea to test this using dense

TLDR: Dense is REALLY bugged, its working kinda backwards
@Meta do you mind explaining this as well, the wording on the doc is a little confusing

@Meta fix attack speed for mages but leave other classes untouched is my idea

my guy there is literally a fraction of a second of difference between 0 and 210 atk speed, not even agility gives this little at 210 stats invested

this doesn’t change the comparison since i used the same dense weapons with 0 atk speed and 210 atk speed
the % change in speed from the atk speed would still be the same

that fraction of a second is actually quite a bit when considering combat in this game, pve included.

6 frame startup difference for flying slash and pgale
4 frame startup difference for rising tide
running 30 frames per second
0.2 second difference is alright don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t warrant a 20% efficiency nerf

also there is literally not a single frame of difference for endlag
