So we all know there are a competitive side to some roblox games like arsenal, battleground games and even Arcane Odyssey but me being a competitive player whats with the hate towards new players?
I started playing this one battlegrounds game a day ago got a little better at it by getting my ass whooped and learning from it. People just don’t like that and say how trash a new player to a game is and for some reason get mad over it.
They used to be a new player to the game too so instead of bashing on new players just encourage them in whatever they are doing not every player has the same mentality to memorise every combo when it comes to pvp.
the reason they trash on new players isn’t for being new, its because they can trash them without consequences. they like the ego boost they get from insulting and killing people, but they know if they do it to anyone with a skill level above an hours playtime, they will get their ass whooped.
It’s a combination of ego and the disinhibition effect that causes people to act they way they do to newgens, though usually those people often have problems of their own to deal with, or they could just be assholes/mentally not all there and just enjoy being a dick for their own gains without much reason behind it
I play games with the intention of completely knowing them, understanding and breaking down the game in a way where I let others that want to get into it digest the speedrun strategies, mechanics, and more in a helpful way.
One of the greatest problems with comp communities is how… angry they get. I don’t get angry at games for anything unless it’s at myself in speedruns.
LEGO speedruns are pretty welcoming, the only real problem being some category-heavy people being “rude” to those that have a different opinion, but that’s common anywhere.
I say this: No one recovers from being called rude. If you call someone rude for something while being light and kind otherwise, it sends the message of how not only you are the bigger person but are not going to step down to their level.
If you say “that’s rude” they’ll either say something insulting or say “idc” which you can just say is rude again. It’s an insane counter.
