I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
Acheron just sucks at the game really really bad.
It never once crossed his mind to just unsummon his minion smh.

We have to delve into how spells function aside from the involvement of intent (which may be exclusive to mages) in order to reach a conclusion though.
Surely the boy that studied all magics for 28 years and discovered everything that it had to offer (a surprisingly short amount of time when compared to a mage’s lifespan) would be better than that.
He missed the beam with 25 million points in size.
(he hit literally everything BUT his target!)
He definitively sucks at the game.
the curses have what
This was my addition, I’ll explain:
Curse users can transform their body into their respective element. Where does their brain go? Nowhere, it is transformed as well, hence why I added this to the list.
im pretty curse users just, straight up have no brain, their body is basically vaporized and turn into pure magical energy the moment they touch the forbidden cube, which is why their body react so violently at all times to magic-irradiated sea, because they are always walking humanoid cluster of magical energy even when untransformed
So then they are magic energy given sentience, such is the explanation.
okay but the sentience comes from the curse user, not the curse itself no?
then again, we do know that certain curses tend to influence curse users personality in a specific way, so ig you can argue thats a sign of sentience from the curse
Curses are nothing without their users, hence why I didn’t bother adding ‘User’ in the explanation.
pushes glasses erm aktually they are cubes of raw magical energy
or spiritual energy
honest question here.
what actually ARE curses?
like they’re all one-of-a-kind because they have some super special creation process only the greek gods could pull off, presumably only relating to magics with aspects they have control over.
For a character in our position (demigod) would it eventually be possible for Poseidon to just tell us the process and us make it happen?
They’re made specifically to be absorbed by humans and apparently only humans to essentially replace their entire body on contact.
The fact alone that there are experimental curses implies some level of magic engineering to perfect it.
They probably are constructs of spirit and magic energy.
Consider the following:
actually any creature that can use magic can absorb a curse, so dragons and sirens can too
Cursed dragon boss fight
Mage solos
I honestly think it’s the process of how a curse is made is what allows it to behave in the way that they do.
