right now vetex chalks a whole lot of stuff in the au up to “magic energy,” despite a lot of it being unrelated to what we know magic energy actually is. therefore, in this topic, I aim to compile every canon effect of magic energy that vetex has confirmed in one way or another.
Hurting people, assuming it has the intent to hurt
Healing people, same as above
Cannot hurt the user unless they intend it to (sometimes)

feel free to tell me more in the comments, since I absolutely forgot some things
Maybe I’m just having a brain fart but I never understood how or why a curse user can’t use their normal magic when magic and curses are kind of made out of the same thing and logically don’t have a reason to clash
Absolutely. For opposing magics I understand the conflict when trying to use it, but for ones that match (or can even mutate to the same type) it should pull the magic in and allow them to use it.
I personally seriously doubt morden went into the dark sea considering that he only had a sailboat at the time and when you go into i0 it’s already pretty chaotic even with a brig
though I guess big V forgot to change the journal lol
I mean to be fair morden going into the dark sea or not doesn’t really have any implications, its just a minor conflict between the dev and in game lore
actually it’s that different types of magic energy conflict with each other, which is also why wind magic can do damage, it conflicts with the innate magic energy in your body
