Computer problem

writing this from my laptop, because the other night I was playing evade on my brand new PC.

I accidentally kneed the actual PC box/tower (it wasn’t that hard but apparently it was hard enough) and suddenly my monitor said “no signal”.

I tried plugging and unplugging it multiple times but nothing seems to work. I suspect something might be wrong with the video card (most likely something got loose) but I don’t know what I am supposed to be looking for.

This PC is brand new btw. any help?

don’t kick the Computer box. Try unplugging the monitor and then plugging it back in or turn of the computer and then turn it on again. I don’t know :man_shrugging:

Yeah new PCs always seem to have issues, just let it rest or something, you could check the insides but your best bet is to just hold the power button for 30 seconds, unplugging every cable connected, and letting it sleep for a few hours

if checking the computer’s insides make sure to ground yourself.

So I see I’m not the only evade player here
I play evade only because I’m out of other things to play

monitors can have multiple sources but itd make no sense to have it change randomly

if your processor has an integrated gpu then you should still have a video output if you are plugged to the motherboard or something

I think a few wires might be loose but I’ll see what happens tonight and plan accordingly.

worst case I’ll open my pc up and see if anything might have been knocked loose.

make sure to ground yourself so you don’t fry it!

like hold it on the side and place in on the floor?

no. like touch one of the screw on a power outlet so the latent static electricity doesn’t fry it. I recommend working on the computer on a wooden table if anything.

give tips pls

my step-brother is a computer whizz I am not so much.

sounds like an excuse for gamer rage

(no I was getting up to go to the restroom but then I slipped on a cord and barely caught myself.)

I still managed to bump the pc but it wasn’t a lot of force.

organize your chords. use electric tape to stick hem to a wall or something :man_shrugging:

no joke, i have actually done that too many times before
(without hitting my pc)
