Please note that this suggestion is not actually mine. I have simply copied it from the wiki at the request of a friend. For that reason, the structure will be very crude.

So with the Empires Update currently being worked on, I decided this would be a good idea for a clan to have

-please note that I cannot make concept art-

Overview

Clan fleets would work similar to player fleets, but belonging to the clan as a whole. Each player in the clan would be in command of a portion of the fleet, under the command of the clan leader.

A player can command their portion of the fleet to undertake certain activities, such as Dark Sea Expeditions (with unique drops), Diplomacy (generates Galleons for the Clan Treasury, and also and unique drops), and Warfare (a kind of GUI minigame fighting against other, randomly generated clan ships, and could be mentioned in the Agora). A clan fleet would be managed in a room in the Clan Flagship, or, less efficiently (like a -15% rewards penalty), on a special room/table/council/something that can be built on islands claimed by your clan. This interface would allow you to repair, purchase, and upgrade the fleet, and would have similar appearance to the Shipyard GUI.

Dark Sea Expedition/Diplomacy rewards

Ordering the ships under your command to go on dark sea expeditions would damage or even sink them, in exchange for the surviving ships to bring back rare loot, such as one-use, advanced blueprints for structures that can be built on claimed islands, with better stats and different visuals than normal structures, but would have to be built with special materials brought back from the Dark Sea Expeditions. For example, a Dark Sea-Stone Wall would have darker colors and more durability (lasts longer against cannon fire) than a normal stone wall, but would have to be built using Dark Sea Stone Bricks brought back on a ship from an expedition. Once the Dark Sea Revamp is complete, there could be a larger variety of rewards, such as a Dragon-Scale Flag that would make it take longer for other clans to claim the island if built. Diplomacy rewards would work similarly, for example if you send ships on a diplomacy mission to Ravenna, for example, and the mission is successful, you might be rewarded with a blueprint for a Ravenna Tent that spawns a set amount of Ravenna soldiers that guard the island and could be saved to an island claim save slot, but once it is destroyed by a member of a different clan, it would disappear from the save and could not be built again without a new blueprint. However, if the diplomacy mission is unsuccessful, the clan/organization you tried to conduct diplomacy with might interpret your offer as a threat, damaging your ships and, if the attempt fails by a large amount, potentially causing the organization to launch an attack on a claimed island.

Warfare system/rewards

When you command your ships to go to war, you would have to select an organization to war against. Low-risk options include pirates, bandit and mage groups, such as the ones in the Enemy Towers card on the Trello, but giving less loot than other targets. Other, more high-risk factions include The Bronze Legion, The Grand Navy, The Assassin Syndicate, and other large, powerful groups. Each group would give unique loot. However, going to war with certain factions would decrease the chance of a successful Diplomacy attempt (such as warring with the Bronze Legion decreasing diplomacy success rate with Ravenna. This would be a method to gain faction blueprints (such as the aforementioned Ravenna Tent) if your clanmates decide to fight and lower your clan’s Reputation (explained below) with every organization.

Clan Reputation

Clan Reputation is a measure of your clan’s standing with other factions, displayed in a GUI like how it is in Starscape. (link to wiki page )

When your clan reaches specific amounts of Standing with other factions, you would gain certain perks (can’t really think of any right now other than reduced jailtime with Grand Navy). Additionally, higher or lower standing influences diplomacy success chances. Also, claiming Navy bases would lower your standing with the Navy.

In essence this collection of game systems provides more immersion for clans, as well as an opportunity for non-PvP-ers to contribute to clans in a more meaningful way, other than just building things on islands.

Again, this suggestion was not made by me, it was made by a friend of mine who requested I put it here on his behalf.
