I like to imagine it as being similar to an explosive chemical reaction.
If a little bit of water splashes on a Curse user, it fizzles and hurts a bit.
A fine mist? Little bit itchy.
Fully submerged? BANG!
Would be funny if like: “Oh, you’re a curse user?” Touches a small drop of water and explodes
New fighting style: Bucket of water holder style
Similar to sailor style, but you hold buckets of water instead of drinking it.
x5 damage to Curse users.
best if used at level 600. You can learn it via insert quest from insert npc’s name on mihmere island
whole new sky ships that have unique things such as cloudskipper cannonballs which have no drop-off but low damage
And make it so like “because arcanium reacts with water and clouds are water” or whathever thing to serve as an excuse, idk i’ve never knew how sky ships work
cloudskipper cannonballs were actually mentioned on the trello once iirc but got taken off for some reason
i assume they would be porous arcanium that’s been soaked in clouds for a while to absorb the magic so they float
they just suck up the magic energy in clouds that can hold stuff up and shoot it back out
its like those water jetpacks
Wait so like what’s the rule about the sea curse users impoding when they touch sea water? Would it work in the dark sea or it just allows it because magic condensation? (I want more lore)
no clue, i assume that magic sky clouds or dark sea rain would just cause inflammation cause its not as dense as liquid water which is 4 hundred times denser than air
last i checked, sea curse users just become paralyzed and sink in water but if they’re really powerful, like morock, they just up and explode
I do believe it’s called a “Sea Curse” because on their arrival in the game Online Fighting, touching one would cause you to be “cursed by the sea”. In a reference to One Piece’s devil fruits, you would die when touching water. (I think you would’ve)
This would easily lead to the presumption that the name comes from the inability to swim in seawater.
PROBLEM though. Sea Curses were invented BEFORE the water was infused with Magic Energy (the cause of the explosive reaction), therefore they would have NOTHING to do with the sea.
Additionally, what sets apart the magic made from circles, and the magic made from curses?
The name canonically comes from curses users typically outliving everyone they care about(provided they don’t also get curses).
Curses just got a whole lot more magic energy to work with than just a person with magic
What does the SEA part come from then?
And how is that a curse that comes from the Sea Curse? Immortality doesn’t necessarily mean sadness, you’re just jealous.
The sea part came later. In the doc, they’re just called Elemental Curses up until the end
As far as I can tell the only canonical mention of them being “sea” curses is in Y1854 and Y1857 on the lore doc. Prior to that it’s just curses.
and its dumber because
Air is a mixture consisting of a variety of different compounds and elements including oxygen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor.
so technically even if they didn’t have clouds, they’d still technically be in water
you fail to account for the fact that individual atoms have different properties than the molecules they make
besides water vapor is a lot less concentrated in the air than pure water is concentrated in water
the ones listed were just the ones I could think of off the top of my head
Es una broma
translated from spanish
it’s a joke
i dont care im tired and cranky /hj
