What is everyone’s opinions on elemental weapons? A Conjurer already has infusion, but I think it would be cool if we could make weapons with our preferred element. It could be an additional spell that we get during our second awakening, and scale with magic alone.
Magic weapons can have the ability to:
Cast spells (since there’s already going to be a type of weapon with the same cosmetic feature
Have increased effect potency/duration as opposed to regular weapons in order to compensate for the single scaling. Although it will be better for some elements as opposed to others unless each gets some effect
Or just be completely cosmetic and basically be fighting styles but with weapons. E.g. using sword shape would let you use all the abilities of a sword )with the appropriate levels of course).
realizing that elemental weapons is a dumb idea on paper but actually really good in practice, we have sunken sword which, when imbued with whichever elements synergize with water, can be pretty strong
the icy sword
the sandy sword
the snowy sword
the singed sword
the corroded sword
the scorched sword
the charred sword
the petrified sword
the burned sword
the metallic sword
the crystalized sword
the molten sword
the splintered sword
the shattered sword
the galvanized sword
the luminous sword
the dark sword
the blighted sword
the windy sword
and the earthen sword
Can you explain more? Scaling has already pretty much been scrapped since it depends on your build (Conjurer has 100% magic damage but around 50% less points than Mage) instead of your stat points and Arcanium Weapons also cast spells that has special effects (spell casted from an Arcanium Bow is smaller but faster and does more damage for example).
Stat points unlock moves, techniques, and allow you to learn certain Magics (Lost/Ancients), use certain techniques (Lost), and equip certain weapons (Rare/Legendary). No stat investment increases damage. Someone with 50 Weapon and 500 Weapon will do the same damage with an Old Rapier’s Shining Cycle, but the person with 500 Weapon can equip more weapons (which will have higher Attack Damage), use far, far more weapon skills, level their weapons further (which does effect damage), and more.
The only stat that affects damage is Vitality, which it affects negatively.
Oh I thought damage scaled off of stat points. Hmm. I also wasn’t aware of the extra benefits arcanium had, but I’m glad they’re there. In that case magic formed weapons could just be cosmetics you could buy, or have some some sort of extra buff with a trade off, like with the status effect potency I mentioned
