I talk about Superman a lot, and while I get a fair bit of what Superman does (or most comic characters actually) aren’t that wholly possible, I found this dandy comic panel:
…within which he bench presses the entire weight of the earth itself. So, if he can bench-press the earth, could he also push the earth?
It might seem like “well, duh, obviously. He’s the damn Superman!”
But the earth itself is huge; like, extremely huge, while Superman is about as big as a regular jacked 6-foot dude, so it seems just a bit unlikely he’d be able to given that he would have to concentrate that much force into such a small area to push the planet, but what do you think?
He has tactile kinesis, which is the same ability that lets him carry airplanes without ripping through them. I’m not sure exactly how powerful the ability is, but it’s definitely possible that it’s powerful enough to affect planetary level objects
No, superman could not move the earth with his hands. Maybe if he launched himself off the planet with enough force he could shift it slightly, the problem here being the force required would likely wipe everything out or cause a mass extinction. Even the asteroid that hit earth and wiped out the dinosaurs probably didn’t shift it at all.
I mean, the question is whether he could push it, not whether some random-ass dude would die, so…
I get it’s implausible, but that doesn’t mean it’s logically impossible, it still has a limited weight that Superman could probably match. What I mean is if it were possible by any means.
