Multidimensional Magic:
Primordial/Lost Magic (I’m gonna make this kinda broken so bear with me)
Got this idea primarily from the stand Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, so yes, this is a JoJo reference.
This magic is created via the user’s newfound abilities to break the laws of space and time itself and to be able to take limited control of the multiverse via multidimensional wormholes, and is able to withstand the ability to not break the fabric of reality around the user when interacting with other copies of themselves. This magic uses mostly Maker and Lost Skill Types.

Magic Abilities

  • Alternate Body Part Creation: Open up a dimensional wormhole and summon out a certain limb or body part of the alternative universe copy of the foe that the cursor is closest to. When the projectile gets nearby the selected opponent, the projectile gains homing, allowing for a sure hit on the opponent. This attack deals massive damage and has a slight chance to sever the selected limb.

  • Alternate Universe Copies: The user of this magic creates a multidimensional portal on the floor and summons 2-5 copies on themselves to attack nearby opponents with weaker, non Multidimensional Magic. This move can only be used standing on the ground, this move does not work while in the air or underwater.

  • Parallel Body: The user of this magic enters one of their multidimensional wormholes and emerges once again replaced by the body of an alternative universe version of themselves. This move heals you by 50% when used, in exchange for a long cooldown.

  • Wormhole Shield: The user of this magic opens up a thin multidimensional wormhole and holds it out forward, like a shield. This shield can only be held out for a maximum of 5 seconds and cannot be bypassed. It also gives invuln while active.

  • Portal Shots: The user of this magic creates a portal where their cursor is located. In the customisation of this move, this portal can either teleport entities towards you, or to teleport you quickly to other places.

This is by no means a good suggestion, and it certainly isn’t original, but I just wanted to give my ideas.

It’s a stretch but ive always had a knack for Science + Magic, more specifically kinetic forces, imagine taking hits from solid objects and magics and slowly building a gauge that allows for the next blast or melee strike to be more powerful, or improving physical performance using stored force

So like Telekinesis or a sort of force? Could be too similar to Gravity or Pressure but it is a great idea. Oh and welcome to the community!

Welcome also like i agree with nick Gravity would be awesome especially if it worked like what you described

Psychic/Mind magic.

It’s not fast, infact, it would do the slowest damage over time.

The damage output is extremely low, lower than all of the other magics.
No fancy blasts, no fancy neon animations or whatever, you can see nothing happening when you use it, and only the circle appears when you cast a spell.

Blast - It’s just the user tripping the victim, barely even scratching them. The victim trips maybe once? twice? That’s it. Cast it again. You’ve done almost nothing to them.
You can’t even see your blasts to aim.

-The more blasts you have per use, the more the victim will randomly trip.

Explosion - Hahaha… all you do is release a shockwave that maybe changes the terrain. It causes the victim’s attacks to be slightly off aim, blacked out, or even self-damaging. Again, below average damage.

High leap - You launch yourself in the air, but it’s heavily, heavily mana-draining, and low.
Pro - everyone below you will trip for 5 seconds.

Now, here’s where it becomes a good investment.

It’s supposed to be played with melee weapons. It is absolutely OP with melee weapons. Once you’ve become lvl 100 or so and can deal enough damage, the victims get an affect - the Insanity effect.
It’s the only magic that can trigger the Insanity effect. Insanity doesn’t kick in immediately - around 10 seconds of a moderate damage (remember, Mind deals extremely low damage) spell being used on them, they’ll start to trip. The Insanity effect makes the victims walk in opposite directions for a few seconds, maybe have a delay on shielding or spell casting, and rarely, it causes opponents to miss their shots. Victims blackout for a few seconds, maybe they randomly slow down for a seconds whilst running, maybe they use the wrong spell.
The more damage you deal, the longer and more severe Insanity gets.

But if you have a melee weapon whilst using Mind? Shoot when they start to walk in opposite directions, slash when they black out, throw knives when they trip.

Bottom line - Mind is a long-term magic - it’s painful to use at the start due to the low speed, extremely low damage, extreme magic energy cost - but once you’ve lvled up high, it’s OP to use with melee weapons.

Damn, you really put some thought into this. Doesn’t seem like a bad idea overall though.

I’ve always thought of this magic idk what id call it but it would be a lost magic that only has maker skills it would be able to make destructible walls, pillars, spikes and stairs etc it would be like alchemy from full metal alchemist.

I would basically make a magic that is mixed of (Shadow, darknesss, storm, lightning)

I don’t have any name. simple the ultimate art for blast attack gonna be a storm invading the area with lightning on people

This is a joke, not meant to be taken seriously.

Arrow magic: a magic that uses arrows to shoot, with random status effects to the person attacked. Basically arrow with no BOW

Flying Magic: Makes you FLY

How about RNG the magic: Wild Magic

Simply put the spells that you cast are basic sort of pure magical energy spells, magic missile type stuff, but since it seems that pure magical energy was never meant to be naturally launched as projectiles and explosions judging by the elemental theming of all of the spells, a wild magic mage can’t actually control this pure magical energy and so there is a significant chance, maybe 30-40%, when casting a spell that something wierd happens. Stuff like your hair magically changing color, projectile spell going wherever it wants or the stats on it to be completely random, casting just a completely random spell instead, exploding yourself, growing or shrinking, spell doing 1 or 1000 damage… The possibilities of jank happening to either help or harm the player, or just make people laugh, are endless through the power of rng.

And before someone points this out in the comments, yes this comes from D&D, why can’t a wizard be so chaotic or incompetent that their ability to cast only allows them jank here too. If magic originally came from the soul then someone with a soul so chaotic or random would naturally just cast wild magic right?

Dance magic, forces you to dance lol

WOAH, arrow with NO BOW

Funny magic:

I’m sure those of you who played Skyrim know that there is a shout that distracts your enemies by throwing funny insults and wherever you shout at directly that draws their attention here.

This magic would work similarly and for fun, (maybe it could help too by tricking other players into thinking you’re somewhere else entirely)

Throw funny words at everyone lol

Sun magic would be kinda cool, like a mix between blinding and fire in exchange for it being a bit bulky.

Dubstep Magic, because I want to kill foes with a deadly bass and wubs from my freaking hands!

Imagine attraction magic, you’re in New Alalea and you see people fighting. What do you do? Just steal a lot of blocks from buildings and literally throw it at both of them through beams

probably sound magic is the closest thing we’re actually getting. dubstep magic tho

I think dubstep can be an alternate variation to sound magic. Or dubstep magic can be the combined element of both Sound and Plasma!

Most of the magics I see being suggested are things that make no sense given the game style, and developing respective moves for many of these elements would be hard/make no sense. Magics should be designed to have only statistical/effect differences. With that in mind, I’d want to see spore magic. Spore magic would visually look like spores as you would expect. Like magics such as magma and ink, it will leave something behind wherever it lands/travels, and that will be that mushrooms grow along it’s route. Touching these mushrooms may apply some kind of debuff to the enemies stats or simply poison them. A bit ambitious, but I feel it would be a very fun and interesting thematic element.

Yea, i dont get why people make pre-made moves for their magic. WoM’s magic system is all about making your own moveset. Also nice idea, I have been wanting to see spore magic too for some time now. I think it would be considered a lost magic, too op to be a basic but not too powerful to be a primordial
