rather just dropping what they are wearing, Hero/criminal should be able to drop any item from their outfit type (fighter type for example should be able to drop martial artist gi, headbands, warrior boots, fighter jacket… etc, they dont necessarily have to be wearing it to be in the possible drop list, just same type)
Dropped items from said npcs should have a chance to possess modifiers belonging to the island you found them on
in addition to that, they should also drop jewels, with their secondary effect minimum quality being better relative to the npc level
And finally, just like how there is a small chance to obtain rare scrolls from random chests, it would be neat for npcs to have the chance to drop them too (drops scroll of same class, i.e a serker can only drop rare technique scrolls)
Reasoning: currently hunting npcs is only useful if its YOUR rival, and its only mostly used for getting charts, this addition hopefully encourages and makes killing any bounty npcs more rewarding (especially those overleveled npcs giving you an old katana as a reward for that gruesome fight)
Yeah, I like this idea, like you said, having more incentive to hunt NPCs that aren’t your rival is great. Right now, the only usefulness to hunting npcs other than your rival is for fame, and that’s only really for Navy and Syndicate players, since fame doesn’t really have a practical function anymore.
I honestly think it’s kindaaa of an useless feature we don’t need more ways to get jewels nor scrolls and having the chance to drop something they’re not wearing doesn’t really sound a good enough idea for vetex to add it to the game, I do think the modifiers idea is neat but it wouldn’t really bring anymore incentive since the most sought after items with modifiers are usually blasted arcspheres and arcmancer sets, the ones that no npc outfit type has and no criminal/hero npc spawn at akursius keep, even other modifiers would kind of be a waste in common armor so…
This is basically just adding random minor pve benefits that dont thematically make sense and are mostly useless (gambling for good modifiers!!! bloating inventory with more free galleons premade jewels!!!)
I dont disagree that killing npcs is not worth the miniscule rewards right now but adding random rewards that are negligible most of the time and useful very rarely (most pve content in mmorpgs) is not the way
