  • Magma (it’s rocks but full of fire)
  • Explosion (It’s fire, but expansive)
  • Plasma (It’s fire, but hotter)
  • Ash (Literally just aftermath of fire) (also should totally have a gray variation and a visual revamp)
  • Flare (Wow, it’s fire, but from the sun, good job.)
  • Sun (Didn’t we just do this one?)
  • Phoenix (Fire, but themed around rebirth. Not actually capable of anything rebirth-related, so it’s just fire with connotations)
  • Heat (So if fire is fuel being burned, and heat is the same thing without the fuel, what does fire magic use to burn?)
  • Steam (Not so much of a fire, but it has identical stats somehow?)
  • Darkflame/Dark Fire (Oooh, it’s fire but EEEVILLLL, Muahahahhaba)
  • Promethean Fire (The most powerful magic ever is a fire, huh? Fitting for the magic that has this many clones.)
  • Scorch (I want to kiss this magic) (So why is it green? Why is it called scorch. Scorches are blackish, and have nothing to do with explosive fire.)
  • Inferno (The Ancient Magic that can be harnessed in everyday cooking equipment these days)
  • Aethereal Flame (We don’t even know what Aether is all about, and you based a fire on it? It’s apparently not even based on Aether, so why’s it named after it? It’s just bright?)
  • New Grand Fires (Why don’t we even know what these are? Just tell us. It wouldn’t spoil anything, not unless you told us exactly which character wields each of them.)
  • Blaze (So the strongest guy in all of the world’s existence just said, “Set some lightning on fire, that’s how I like my magic served”? He’s not very creative.)

reading this made me realize how much of an obsession vetex has with fire based magics

Funny enough Vetex seems to have lightning as their favourite

To be fair, setting lightning on fire is crazy in its own right.
Lightning is already plasma which is basically fire+ so is blaze fire+^2???

it’s not actually lightning on fire though, it’s just lightning that has the appearance of fire, which is probably weirder
