Title. Says it all. Unless the rework vetex is planning for crystal makes the extra damage is an actual nuke when u get to 5 hits, crystal will still be terrible. Absolutely dismal. The largest disadvantage is that its about as slow as a snail. And that’s complimenting its speed. Anyone with half a brain can dodge it. I can dodge it. My grandma can dodge it. A 5 yo can dodge it. Just press and hold t and ur invincible. Next, its damage is terrible. I would understand if it had a slow pace and very high and rewarding damage but it doesn’t. Its damage is mediocre at best. And , in most cases, it cant even get bleed. Unless u happen to be fighting a level 10. The name crystal implies its gonna look glamorous af. It doesn’t. It looks very dull. Now here is my suggestion:
Remove the various types. Make all of the types into 1 magic. Whenever u fire a crystal blast or use a offensive spell in general it should be a different colour based on rng. Each colour should have different effects. Like red for bleed or mb burn. But don’t make the dot too high, that would overkill. Each type of crystal should synchronise with the other types or cancel the other types out. Like if blue makes the enemy soaked red should take that soaked effect away. Also, increase the speed. Larger sizes should be very slow but smaller sizes should be very very fast. Sacrifice just a bit of damage for each size. I also think that if your gonna do a larger size, barrages should be up to 20, whilst smaller sizes should be 7 or around that area. Explosions should be made from a variety of crystals and should cause bleeding. A crystal just went thru ur body. R u gonna bleed or wat. Ik some of these changes r hard to pull of but if I had to not implement one of these. It would be the explosion 1. The rest should be implemented to make crystal more unique instead of a wood copy.
I know! Maybe let Variants have some sort of use. Like the ideas you have except, not. You see, Rubies don’t go around burning people and settin things on fire (unless youre from Steven Universe). And Sapphires don’t make people wet… unless you have some weird obsession with them To be fair, just make Crystals faster and have more damage. Not a lot, but something to make it more viable ALONG with Vetex’s idea, as that is actually plausible compared to hot and cold clear rocks. Maybe buff it so you only need 3 hits, cause I can guarantee you that if the opponent knows about your passive, they will do everything to not get hit.
yeah i wouldnt mind a crystal rework better than the classic “your 5th hit does more damage” but i dont entirely agree with this post given it’s just an elemental magic

My oldest character uses crystal, I’ve been using crystal for the longest time, and even I think this would be overkill
I admit I went a bit over the top lol. I was just rlly tired and I vent when I’m tired lol. The least we need is a higher casting speed and damage. Mb even another effect like if a crystal hits an enemy, said enemy slows down . But this should only be an effect if speed isn’t increased. I would call it crystallisation. Another idea I had was that crystal could be very fast but have minimal damage. If this happens , mb crystal should be able to absorb certain elements, making it slower but much more powerful. Magics should also react with other. Like if lightning hits a water the water may be electrified or if it hits an acid puddle then BOOM small explosion. If earth hits crystal or gold or wood it could absorb said elements and get more damage. Idk I just think different elements should react with each other in many different ways, opening up new play style. Wat do u guys think
