If you manage to pass through the final area of the Dark Sea, you’ll be introduced to one final count.

Once you pass through the second segment of the Far Reaches, your screen would fade to white with purple, wavy lines etching the outside. As the white screen fades away, you’re still on your ship, except your crew and Quartermasters are gone. And at the top of your screen…

 - Breaking Point -

What is real. What is not?

The idea is this; this is the final area of the game. But here’s the thing; it doesn’t really exist. It’s all part of your mind. The Insanity is so strong here to the point where your mind has created it’s own separate reality to cope with it, with it being a play on the Boltzmann Brain theorem.

You’d get a new level of Insanity unobtainable any way else - Level 6. Your Dark Sea compass would spin, just like your regular one. The egdes of your screen would dance and leap and ripple.

And the thing is; unlike the other portions of the Dark Sea, this place isn’t deadly. It’s… quite the opposite. The waters are calm. No lightning, no heavy waves. No music. No whistling wind like there is in the Far Reaches.

The only source of sound; a gentle humming, similar to the Song the Sirens make.

Additionally, the game would hide your GUI, like Picture Mode but without the borders.

The Insanity effects of previous levels would have no effect here. No false messages or blood or fake damage. Nope. Insanity 6 does no harm, no foul.

Just hides your GUI, ripples the edges of your screens, and etches them with purple.

If you try to turn back, and go back to the Far Reaches… well, there no longer exists a Far Reaches. You turn back and there’s nothing there.

And at all times, there’d be a button at the bottom of your screen which says “Wake Up.” You can spam click it just like at the beginning of the game, and you and your boat are sent right outside the Dark Sea, wherever you entered.

I dunno how hard this’d be to implement, but I’d love to see it.

It acts as a sort of fast travel for people who’ve collected a lot of Chests but have passed through the Far Reaches (why would you do that anyways,) but also gives slight lore implications and gives off a “calm before the storm” feel.

Dunno. I’m tired and this seems like a good idea to me.

i have never even gotten to layer 4 and people here wanna make a layer 7? but yeah sure

Not a bad idea but this has no current application because of the level cap and how unfeasible going to even the far reaches is (I assume most people are not actually grinding in the far reaches). This would only be a good implementation if there was a really difficult challenge just before this area 7 was really difficult, so taking the fast travel is actually a major risk.

It should take you to a random place on the edge of the dark sea rather than where you entered to prevent clans from staging a large scale ambush on a victim who thinks that all the threats are off in the dark sea.

The fast travel isn’t actually meant to have any benefits. It’s just so you can get out of Breaking Point in the first place, since you would be unable to go back through the Far Reaches. I don’t expect people to go through the Far Reaches to go and turn in their chests.

It’s also meant to be just a nice callback to the beginning of the game, and also a “was it all just a dream?” moment, since Insanity is already kinda similar to that.

Breaking Point isn’t meant to have a use. It’s just meant to be… eerie. A sudden silence in the midst of well… this hellish landscape. You know? It’s the exact same thing that makes me so scared of the Sirens. It’s not because they, themselves, are scary, nor are their songs.

It’s just the sudden tranquility of a woman singing a beautiful song in the midst of the Dark Sea that gets chills running down my spine.

A calm before the storm. This is what it’s meant to be.

Honestly, I like this more. If it could teleport you to the first or second layer of DS, I feel that’d be more fitting regardless. That way, also, you still have a bit more of a home stretch to go before you’re actually safe.

It furthers the idea of the whole “eye of the storm” thing too. You got out of the Far Reaches just to be sent back into the Dark Sea.

In that case, this suggestion is even more useless because it doesn’t have any gameplay use now or in the future.

The idea is pretty cool though, and when we get good enough to consistently make trips to past the far reaches I think this should be added just because it’s cool. Maybe this suggestion would be better in writing though, because I’m not sure why you would make a suggestion that practically doesn’t do anything.

The idea is cool in it’s concept, but gameplay wise, players should just get teleported to the other side of the map.

Good idea though

Eh, just thought it’d be a nice, trippy tranquility, but I see your point lmao.

It doesn’t really have a use, and maybe it’s a bit much to add. Seems kinda complicated in coding too. I just like the idea of sudden prosperity and dreaminess right after whatever the Dark Sea is.

My friends and I allready have gon into the 6th range
We have even once gone soo far as to where roblox rendering starts breaking down

That’s just what range 6 allready is, it doesn’t exist cannonically, it’s just a way to put a border on the dark sea gameplay wise

Yeah but i think they want to turn the 6th range into a “loopback”
Intersting idea if vetex could pull it off
Espically the “eye of the storm” effectas it then plops you in range 2 of the dark sea
