I noticed that each range change is sudden and very unpredictable, and when I went to find the epicenter, I eventually (and accidentally) went into the voidzone and died pretty much instantly. I woulda been able to avoid it if there was… idk, an actual indicator that I was heading INTO the voidzone? A fix would be very simple, just put a layer of fog between each range, first range being purple and epicenter being red, and whatever inbetween for the rest. The voidzone fog should be black and purple (The reason why it’s not pure black is for visibility). For a little extra warning in case you’re going too fast, maybe a crew member could warn you that something feels extremely off when you’re approaching a new range, or you could get a message saying “turn back” if you’re close to the voidzone.
Also, idk if this was a bug or not, but when I went to an island and accidentally aggroed a nightmarish Atlantean, I just sailed off to avoid getting absolutely whooped. Little did I know, he never stopped chasing me. So when I was just exploring another island, this dude pops up out of nowhere and ambushes me harder than blitz catching you without a safespot in pressure lockerless (Lost like 50-60 chests because of that…) First off, how can he even swim that far without getting eaten by white eyes or caught by the omen or smth, and second of all, how do they know where we are going if we go that far away? Yeah… maybe make them give up after a while or just limit the area they can go in to just the radius of the island, or where their post is located?
If not already, I’d appreciate if we could use Invisibility V to stop them from aggroing onto us, or at least reducing their aggro range per invis tier?
but as for the first part about layers, yeah we could definitely have something. i dont think layers should necessarily be indicated on the sea, as technically insanity is meant to be gradual in lore and not just an instant spike when you cross some arbitrary barrier…
…but at least we could have a dozen or so seconds of grace period when insanity 5 hits, before taking damage immediately. with strong visuals to really emphasize the imminent death
Actually yeah, a delay to insanity five would be enough to allow you to not immediately die, to return to boundaries. Maybe the sight eye could also be seen in this insanity level
Also, some very, VERY stupid shenanigans might occur occasionally. Sometimes, you can’t even interact with the soap, which means you can’t get rid of water poisoning and then you die. Pretty bull when you get into that situation.
the thing with atlanteans is that normally npcs tp back to their spawn once theyre too far
atlanteans cannot because 1, there is no designated spawn point in a randomly generated world and 2, its probably despawned
The atlantean apparently did not despawn…? So that meant he ambushed me when I went on an island that I was exploring for long enough. I wonder how that’s even remotely fair but dang, far reaches shenanigans
