Ive been thinking of what Darkness 4-5 is going to give. Not sure if the quests give any hints to what it gives but it might either be a sensing buff or maybe an insanity based item that can buff you depending on your insanity level. Similar to the diamond item that sentinel has. Or third option, its just going to give an exploration buff for dark sea or something related to dragons. Lowkey want a pet dragon to fly around on. ![]()

Then, maybe a ghost summon tool? Bootleg “summon elemental“?
Oh that actually sounds sick. I’ve always liked NPCs helping you fight, it was really funny getting my crew to help me fight stuff. The summon ghosts could be powerful because I saw some ghosts in far reaches that are probably lvl 600 because they have the same aura size (in sensing) as the nightmarish atlanteans ![]()
I doubt it’ll let you summon shit that crazy right off the bat, but it would be useful for people who want to use summons but can’t cause they ain’t mages or, in the future, oracles.
Yeah I know, but consider its a quest that makes you fight a dragon and possibly something stronger at the last stage.
Edit: Wait new idea, What if it summons your shadow, similar to how you can spawn one on story bosses.

4 and 5 just make your chaos aura bigger
Players and NPCs of any kind(dialogue, friendly, enemy, citizens) vomit wherever you walk and get slowness and blindness debuffs from the stench aura you give off.
18 metal mages rolling up, all with 4 metal-magic deckhands (not 5 because ‘normal’ crew cant attack) and summon elemental (set to 4 allies) with biolog’s proposed summon tool (for sake of simplicity lets say it spawns 1 ghost), to blasted rock to gank nero caesar (180 entities the game has to calculate, + 1 for nero himself):

actually lets say lvl cap is 400 (so players both have magic and spirit ‘summon elemental’), and vetex decided to raise player cap to 100 again for the funzies, also normal deckhands can now attack as well

I think I was chatting with someone and they mentioned Darkness Talent letting you sense the Epicenter as an idea. Now that I really think about it, that’s a really plausible idea because it was said that the Epicenter would have content like Legendary Beast Atlanteans in the future and I doubt we’d have to locate the Epicenter every time just so we can do whatever content there is available. Having it as a level 5 perk would make sense.
Mages are still better because that’s definitely two, possibly three magics you can put summon elemental on
Dont spells have global cd
they share cooldown
Hastemaxxing it is motherfuckers
Haste sharply falls off after ~100 because it’s a parabol
Don’t recommend getting 700 haste for like 45% cd when 100 haste is already 30%
Still, consider level 400 gear
