Data reset questions about Full Release's stat changes and more

  1. Will there be another similar Sunken wipe to items that have Agility, or will they safely be converted to Accuracy in a modular way? I say this because, imagine having a Sunken Warrior Chestplate enchanted with Agile. And the game goes like “Hey, this item has a stat that doesn’t exist. Roger that, removing that item.” You know?
  2. Similar thing but with energy regeneration gems. Will agility and energy regen jewels be able to nuke items because they’re also different from the new accuracy stat, or am I just overthinking it?
  3. Will energy regen be changed to no longer quickly refill your energy bar? Because hunger and energy are getting merged, that means you probably don’t have the passive energy regen that awakening gives. So will you get free energy from it like before or will it be changed to something else (like agility → accuracy)
I’m asking because I fished for a very long time to get these rare items and it would be absolutely baffling for having a socketed jewel to just erase it completely.

I can think of a grand total of 0 people that I know would enchant a SW Chestplate with Agile.

  1. According to patch notes, all items with Agility are converted directly from your inventory to give Accuracy instead. I’d still take off any Agility-giving stuff on your gear though; there might be a bug that slips past.
  2. Probably the same thing, although I wouldn’t worry about Energy Regeneration.
  3. Energy Regen is now Energy Efficiency, lowing the amount of Energy you use with abilities.

the tried and true method is to not play the update immediately, wait around 5+ hrs and let other players play first so they get affected by the bugs and not you

Yup, that is how my sunken sword survived the purge

Gargamel would.

Like I said…

Since I don’t know who Gargamel is, my statement still stands true.

Also the post-patch-shutdown-maingame-testing-period was implemented to prevent future game breaking bugs from slipping though as things are ported over from the test universe.

Yeah, but Roblox as a plateform is like an inflated castle in the ocean

No they will not be wiped, all items were converted into the new enchants/gems

And since there’ll be a maintenance period, something that crucial won’t slip by testing before the update releases to the public

Yeah, it now reduces the energy cost of moves.

I mean, all the sunkens were supposed to be set to their highest level automatically, we know how that turned out

Yeah, but with a dedicated maintenance/testing period it’s unlikely the game will run into something like that again

With the sheer amount of content in full release, looks like that period will be looooong

to be honest, its not the fact it happened and a lot of sunkens got wiped, its the response afterwards. they just shrugged and went “ok idk heres a week of luck 3, too bad you lost all your sunken weapons”

its hard to really trust after that

Personally, I would advise never playing an update until it’s been out for over a week. The worst of the bugs should be gone by then.

I was affected in the way of losing my sunken sword which had a lot of emotional value.
I didn’t even get to use any of the luck thanks to a certain camp I went to the day after that lasted for a week.

Yeah though the wipes seemed quite random. I say this because I played during the ongoing wipe when Nimbus released by accident. When I unequipped my Sunken Sword, it didn’t disappear, even though somebody at the Forest of Masts warned me. (They were probably staying there to warn others lol)

I’m guessing it’s because I never upgraded it? It stayed at level 50.
Also, it was Luck 3 instead of 5 because Luck 5 at the time would cause a massive sunken inflation with the amount getting caught.

I guess another question relevant for this thread is the changes for other mechanics like fishing. There were plans to make Master Angler hard to get, but that could just be moochez’s tomfoolery.
I don’t know if fish variants will get deleted in the idea of a “fresh start”.

instead of a week of luck they couldve at least restored sunkens for people who had proof.
for example, people affected by this wipe could have had a sunken sword in their hotbar, but none in their inventory. once they removed the sunken from their hotbar it would be lost forever. this would be easy to prove in a video as evidence.

but they didnt do it because of something along the lines of “too much work”
i understand not wanting to restore everyone, but at least restoring the ones with proof would be fine as a bare minimum

id also understand not restoring stuff like wiped boss drops since those arent as big of a deal as wiped sunkens.

I don’t think many people would hop on the new AO update and go “hm, yes, I should record my gameplay”
Besides, my sunken sword was in my hotbar already, and people who actually use them, like conjurers, would absolutely have them. And how do you prove that a sword that was deleted from the start disappeared?

if the bugged weapon is in your hotbar, you just record it right there. i never implied recording your gameplay 24/7
to this day, i still have a bugged sunken sword in my hotbar. its easily proven if you go to your weapons tab and see no sunken sword with saying “equipped” with a bright blue outline. it doesnt exist in your inventory, just your hotbar. that would be the evidence

of course if you unequipped this bugged sunken weapon, its gone forever. if you didnt record that then itd be ggs
