some of thismight not make sense since this is my fucking 3rd time rewriting this because the previous versions just made no sense at all tome and i had no direction ofwhere i was throwing the theory
alright so im just gonna eyeball and say wotan is 400+ years old. i say this due to the fact that i can only just assume that he got his curse sometime after he was born in the war seas (when kingdoms began to develop) now of course theres probably some bullshit vetex hidden lore that will be gate kept until the heat death of the universe but this is just my guess.
it isnt known exaclty how long keraxe has been around since the ACTUAL start of the war seas. the lore document says that around 500 years after the fracture (the event that split the world) what remains left of the world in each sea cluster has been fully colonized so we can just assume that this was when keraxe came along and then when wotan was born and then when he obtained the wood curse then took leadership of keraxe
its also stated on the wiki that wotan has been trying to conquer the war seas for hundreds of centuries which can be assumed to be 3 centuries (300 years) which would bring us to the present of arcane odyssey.
TLDR: wotan was born a long time ago after the shattering and then found the wood curse formed keraxe and then began trying to conquer the war seas.
so what about his sons?
alright this is my opinion and my guess but wotans sons are either young ipad children or are just super old considering the fact that their dad is like top 10 in the arcane universe hence them being able to live for so long since they were definitely born with magic. i believe this is the most LIKELY one considering that theos was around 879 years old during the events of arcane adventures and he was in the top 10 so it only just makes sense for his sons to be 100 something years old before getting their curses
alright so WHAT ABOUT CURSES?
i myself speculate that they had recently just gotten their curses. in sameria when we are being briefed on the sons of wotan its mentioned that wotans eldest, donar has the lightning curse. you know who also had the lighting curse? acheron, you know how long ago acheron died before the ao story took place? 3 months ago
with this we can just assume that the lightning curse had fallen down somewhere in the war seas after acheron blew himself up OR donar is neglected by wotan and was just given a curse last
HONORABLE MENTION: all of wotans sons are likely to have curse inheritances considering wotan is 400+ years old
