I feel like the entire deckhand system of course is some what tedious to get or upgrade depending on what you’re trying to get, along with trying to gain bounty/fame which can be decreased through activities or player hunting.
So, I feel like the deck-hands should get a change and not focus entirely based on reputation as I read the wika (Unsure if this is confirmed/true) that the reputation for deckhand runs on a multiplication table being this:
This would make getting deckhand in the future even more tedious than what it is right now as we’re no where near the max level or like 1/8 way there (Level 1000, not actually the max level but will be under or whatever depending on the storyline)
So that would mean that if you wanted even to get an adept deckhand it would be (1000 x 20000) leading up to 2,000,000 fame/bounty needed (unless reputation gets re-worked to become easier to get or based on level)
Either way, I feel like it should be changed. If you want deckhands you need a set requirement/stats being:
- Ships Traveled
- Agora News
- Ships sunk
- Creatures killed
- Bounty/Fame hunted
- Dark Seas Survival time
(Stats can be seen through the statistics menu)
This would make acquiring deckhands possibly less tedious but still giving it somewhat difficult.
These stats will be ya’know big depending on the tier of deckhands you wan to get such as
You found a legendary deckhand but in order to hire him, you need 500 Ships sunk and 50,000M Travelled in total. In order to upgrade it, say it’d be 650 - 750 ships sunk and 100,000M. (Depending on how many deckhands you have, it’ll start to scale on the requirement making it more and more difficult so it isn’t abused and ships having all legendaries or something)
Legendary Deckhands will still have its tedious farm for but it doesn’t rely on bounty, you can also grind at the same time such as ships. Giving the player more loot or stuff they ever wanted.
And yeah keep the reputation but, make it way less than before and mostly change the cosmetics of what the NPCs wear like:
Example:
Villain Reps: Viking-like style
Good reps: Sorcerer like style
But those are by chance, its just higher chance depending on the reputation.
This is more so to give more options to players on how they want to farm and not have to rely so much on their renown in order to get better upgrades for ships without having to get hunted down and having their fame/bounty lowered making it harder to find deckhands.
