AO forumers trying not to argue about block game challenge (impossible)
just how it goes anymore.
I honestly don’t see the point in arguing anyways, I’ve seen somebody change their mind once from an argument in the two years since I’ve joined the forums, and that person wasn’t even directly involved in the argument.
im just looking at this thread with splatoon 3 splatfest music playin rn
jesus this man is still typing
alr idk how to quote so ill just split it up into sections
permadeath: you have once again provided no reason for why permadeath is bad i provided more reasons for why permadeath sucks in my literal essay on why deepwoken is good. You said that its like taking permadeath from another roguelike and removing what makes it good in other roguelikes but deepwoken isnt even a roguelike so of course its not gonna have any of this. Deepwoken is a souls like which heavily rewards trial and error unlike roguelikes. Permadeath fits into a souls like just like how it fits into other souls likes. Take elden ring for example, dying twice in a row makes you lose all runes. All deepwoken does is take this to the extreme which makes sense in a multiplayer game. I don’t like permadeath but that doesn’t automatically make it bad
NPC: Ok so apparently you were talking about AI which makes even less sense. Yeah I can agree that deepwokens AI wasn’t even near the level that people hyped it but that doesn’t make it bad in fact deepwoken has some of the best AI on roblox. I don’t think a single AI is cheesable in this game which is pretty incredible even AAA games have difficulty with this.
Race Passives: Ok what? The fact that AFR doesn’t have this makes it worse why would you argue this. Race passives make races unique and offer players more build diversity which is what the game prides itself on. They also don’t affect gameplay too much so it doesn’t make people who pay for the race they like better than people who don’t pay. Its a great example of how race passives should work rather than being cheap visual changes.
Parry trades: Yeah obviously you encountered parry trades you played for a week when the game came out no one was skilled so no one used feints or mantra mixups. I guarantee you would not have the same experience if you played a month later.
Chances are you wont respond to this so let me just say that you can like or dislike without reason that’s perfectly fine I don’t even like deepwoken but you gotta offer evidence when saying a game is good or bad this is basic stuff you learn in elementary school man make a claim and provide evidence and reasoning
splatfest battle 2 theme is by far the best one deep cut went hard on that one

the game’s pvp is more balanced now, but a new defining meta has arisen (FUCK YOU ATTUNEMENTLESS USERS)
Not an avid Deepwoken player (got like 2 hour playtime at most and 70% of that time was spent fighting one NPC over and over again for no reason) but my favorite aspect of the game is the aesthetic of it all. It looks good, can’t say to how it plays, but it just breaths a whole other experience you probably won’t find anywhere else. Somewhat reminds me Hollow Knight and Rain World with the vibe of it. I think in terms of world design it’s great and you know that holds some weight when not even the most pure hearted haters of this game won’t mention it (not that ik of at least this could just be some overlooked thing that I only care about /shrug).
Honestly tempted to give the game an honest try just to see how it goes, especially since I’ve been giving old games I play a new visit to see how they hold up to my memory. Usually not a fan of just parry simulators but /shrug at least willing to see how it goes.
200 hours on a single character and i still honestly am not 100% sure. It used to be fun when everything was mysterious and you could find out new shit with people and make friends, but i feel like now its fun just doing stuff (and beatin the shit out of people) since the pvp is still genuinely good.
(I have only played chime for 20 mins everyday for the last 3 weeks)
From my short time playing (only been to the Depths once) the exploration was fun as shit, with this constant sense of eldritch-like oblivion that my feeble Robloxians could not comprehend, and that shit outside my reach were at play. Also permadeath sort of forces you to change builds, which is great for me since the idea of that is fun. Only problem is that I become a pussy as I’m scared of dying.
Honestly I never played Deepwoken, I don’t even know the lore of the game or the gameplay
I really like the setting, and the mysterious feel of the world. The combat is fun once you get it down, both pve and pvp, but the crux of the problem is the devs obsession with pvp and permadeath just do not mix.
although the game is heavily focused on pvp you gotta admit it does have a nice open world with a variety of islands with there own lore behind them i really hope thats the focus in layer 2 lmao
also yes i like the pvp builds and exploration(although ive explored everything)

When asking one of my friends if i should play deepwoken (months after release, he had already played through and quit by then) he said that you could get 1 tapped by (some power level i dont remember what it was, maybe 60) and that basically sums up the game
Idk if this is true since i didnt play with them but ill take his word for it
