Proposal

we defense needs a change to make vitality more unique. vitality right now just adds 4 hp per point. it seems like a little which is why changing defense and how it works could make that 4 hp more significant (or much more stupid balancing wise)

the other options strait out buffing vitality which isn’t the best idea

Vitality is not useful due to defense builds, so what if defense was like power, where it

A. it gives damage reduction.

B. added defense is scaled with your max hp

Reason to add/change

as i said before, vitality gets shadowed out due to not granting much impact and the damage reduction, so there has to be a change in one of those. the problems with damage reduction is that any build that isn’t power would just get nerfed. now if defense scales with max hp it could work out better.

Example formula (not to scale)

x (base hp) + (x · .1y (defense stat) = total
100 + (100 · .1[15]) = 250
vitality build (10 points vit)
140 + (140 · .1[15]) = 350

this would give vitality that runs defense an advantage and builds that don’t use vitality a harder time catching up (hopefully) and since vitality builds will likely have some defense on it will help them.

no clue if this would help out but they need something (yes theirs spirit weapons but they still have a disadvantage because of weakening)
