Slowly, it seemed you were able to inch back to sleep. It was a begrudgingly lengthy task, but this alien instinct lost its grip slowly and steadily while the darkness permeated your vision and conscience, slowly.
2:54 AM. After a sudden spasm and a jolt to wakefulness without hesitation, your hand shot out to meet your curtain blinds at once, yanking them open in a single primal movement. Something was driving its cryptic presence deep into your headspace. Cords and blinds trembled in your hands, and so did the rest of your home, seemingly… violent shaking was suddenly causing catastrophe all about!
There was a piercing crash of glass, the sound of vexed barking, a rattling of silverware that, quiet, was clearly audible. Synonymous, a deep rumbling from below. It was almost as if your every sense had been amplified to perceive the unstable world around you. In this moment, everything was hostile. But there was very little time to think of any of this.
Even as you rent the blinds apart, a searing, blinding, ethereal light blasted out. Its intensity was truly unfathomable. You could not tell if you were screaming or not, as every aspect of perception or sensibility had been shattered in this single, tiny moment; your mind seized and convulsed, your eyes burned madly, and reality caved in on itself.
