Well, since we all know about Argos having a Devourer, some of you must’ve wondered why it’s black in color and where it’s abilities come from (probably)?
Me too. I’ve done some research, and I think the Devourer, due to one of Argos’ moves where he sucks you in and does a lightspeed judgement cut move, is made from a meteorite that fell to Earth after orbiting a black hole, or something similar, due to it’s ability to suck in a Sea Curse which normally shoots out of a user when they die, and how it causes a suck-in AOE (during the afforementioned Judgement Cut move).
I think it does that by generating gravity, which causes time dilation when Argos moves at seemingly lightspeed, and it does that same gravitational power while snatching a Sea Curse.
Also, it’s black in color, and so are it’s moves in general.
There’s no indication that devourer-material does anything while a person is still alive, unlike with handcuffs, which can somehow prevent you from using magic
Crazy theory but it’s based off some random things that make no sense in the universe the game is right now and it’s mostly speculation. It’s probably made out of some alloy (like arcanium) or imbued with some type of power we don’t know yet that makes it able to steal curses from cursed people.
It looks like a normal greatsword at the start of the fight, but then it gets imbued with that blackish color at the end of the fight so i’m just assuming he imbued something in it. Maybe it’s like a potion? There’s a lot of potions out there and we can literally use gels so it could be that too.
I always thought the sword was black to begin with ngl
This is honestly why I think skippable cutscenes during boss transformations should be added to AO, because with more cutscenes, we can get more pieces of important information like this easier.
Actually i’m not sure if it’s black by the start of the fight since i’m using the first image we got of it in twitter as my base so maybe it’s already black by the start of the fight idk.
