about 2 - 3 years ago this place was whole lot different (of course) it was straight up wonderland under rainbows way back
and now we here in present day
wtf happened here this place looks so depressing now with every event that’s occuring like
we got drama that ain’t like the danthegamer type drama (everybody shitted on users for being underaged or done something real bad, tats all there was to drama, now we just shitting on people and causing civil wars) or whatever and where everybody is

where the days where thatoneguy would greet people and WAX drawing and being the legendary one and dubious being that annoying kid named sandal and ezia was actually an edgelord and not a 3am drunken guy and that country humans guy and that guy who loved dragons

Probably it’s just due to tiredness at Vetex, a lack of content to meaningfully discuss, and the fact that many of us are just moving on from the Arcaneverse.

Another difference is that we aren’t all waiting for AO to release, all of us were hyped when a sneak releases, everyone was theorizing on things, our imagination can’t run wild anymore when we already have the game. Now all we have is the game, for better or for worse.
The spark will probably come back, forum goes through mood swings and we had fun while waiting for Dark Sea. We just gotta hope another update can ignite the forum again.
It also doesn’t help that everyone has their nostalgia spectacles on, at worst we lost the activity from people waiting for Reminders updates like killer whales waiting for a seal
Funnily enough, by definition, the wait and secrecy with AO was an Arcane Odyssey. I say secrecy because leaks stopped being posted unless they were huge features.
Arcane: understood by few; mysterious or secret.
Odyssey: a long and eventful or adventurous journey or experience.
It still is in a way while we wait for Lost/Ancient magics, but not to the same level.
i feel like if youre around anything enough for a long time youll see it “lose its magic”, regardless of what that magic is to you and whether or not much actually changed
also, this isnt about the forums, but the literal “magic” of AO is gone for all of us. We’ve (assumedly) seen everything this game has to see, likely a few times over, theres nothing magical about it anymore and its very normal and mundane in our view now. Even if that’s not directly forum-related it’s likely affected the forums too
Regardless of how much I love something it loses some of it’s “magic” eventually (and that doesnt mean i stopped loving it either) and I assume thats a pretty normal experience
genuinely it does
i think a lot of people are miserable for one reason or another and they take it out (knowingly or not) on the forums, also the fact some people just have being a dickhead as their only personality trait and its seen as “yeah thats just them” when we should be discouraging this behavior. It’s not “trolling” its not “just them” its being an ass for no reason and we NEED to acknowledge that
