Dirt needs to be toggleable

He has insanity one! That figures…

It’s called an immersion feature because it forces you to immerse yourself in water to get rid of it.

whats the difference you dont shower irl either

my man’s gonna become darker than the night sky

where the fuck is the dirt coming from you are ON an ICEBERG

pretty sure the new food items give sunburn (and tan) immunity

One fight in Ravenna and suddenly you have a full tan

this is actually such a huge problem in ao. the dirt looks awful and as said previously the tan looks awful as well, and the ravenna disguise easily turns a top 3 island into the worst island in the game for me

i dont understand why this is necessary and ig at the very least we can prevent it in nimbus but its still gonna be annoying to make like 50 million smoothies for every time i log on

Just cause it doesn’t bug you doesn’t mean its a non-problem.

So I properly figured out why tanning seemed to be so much of a problem for everyone else compared to me. I spent 24 minutes on sandfall island to see how much of a tan my character got.
Below are the before and after pictures (you can see from the hunger drain that they are 24 minutes apart)

For some strange reason, my character just doesn’t get a tan. While everyone else was starting to look like raw meat after 5 minutes on a hot island, I was completely unaffected and wondering what all the fuss was about.

  1. it can sometimes be bugged and just not work properly to tan or untan you
  2. if it’s a foggy day your character won’t tan
  1. I did this test because I had never noticed my character tan
  2. There was no fog at all

It may be that I happen to always get the bug where the tan doesn’t happen, but other than that I can’t really think of an explanation.

At first I thought that all this fuss about dirt was a bit overdone. But then I finally decided to change my full-body-coverage blindfolded-bandana-ninja drip and realized that dirt is, in fact, awful. And it even saves between servers, for some reason (why would you spend effort in making it do this!?!?!).

This shouldn’t even be togglable, because everyone would always keep it off and new players wouldn’t know it exists… until they do, and turn it off anyways because who wouldn’t? This feature should just be removed. There’s no redeeming qualities, not even for “immersion”.

literally the only solution you lot need is to make dirt take one stack of soaked to clear fully

Simple solution for dirtiness?
Make a carriable cloth, towel or handkerchief.
You use it multiple times to clean yourself quickly, and after a few uses you have to wash it. Literally the same thing you do right now but you don’t have throw yourself into the water constantly, plus more immersion because people don’t dunk in water when they get dirty in their face, just wipe your face clean like a normal person.

Simple solution for tanning?
Make an umbrella.
Like that’s it, make an umbrella to avoid tanning under the scorching sun. Make it completely nullify tanning, and if you for some reason want to tan, don’t use the umbrella. As simple as that. Plus, another object to dye and add to drip, I want my character to go around carrying a pink umbrella as she walks.

You can buy both in tailor shops.
Really, you can easily make more immersion without rather weird additions that ruin people’s aesthetics and are a hassle to get rid of.
Shouldn’t really be that hard to code or add either, for wiping just undo the dirt, and after a few uses make it too dirty to be usable, so buy another one or wash that one. For the umbrella just completely ignore tanning while you hold it.
