I have two versions of this Fighting Style, called “Divergence Fist”, since I didn’t like the Old one, so I made New version, but i’ll let you read the old version in case someone likes it more.

Old Version

Old version

Name, description:

Divergence Fist - A fighting style which uses dark energy and precise strikes to deviate the main hit into multiple strikes in order to attack several enemies or one with stronger power.

Icon:

A midnight trailed hand with multiple sparks (of the same color) on it.

Of course, the general color of this fighting style is Midnight.

Stats:

Damage: 0,7
Size: 1,3
Speed: 1,1

Where to obtain?

Most possible answer - an NPC. It could be obtained by completing that NPC’s quest and then, like the other quests for Fighting Styles, buy it for a price.
I thought it would be a good idea to add it on some island in the next update, but then decided that it should be in the Dark Sea, since Divergence Fist uses dark energy.

Summary:

Path 1:
Divergence Fist will be sold by a special NPC who can be found only in range 1, where insanity is not implemented yet. This NPC can spawn on any dark sea island with a chance of 1/7.
After interacting with him, he’ll start off agressively, but then calm down and you could either leave him alone or help him, starting the questline.
“Mayhem in the Darkness” - is the name of the Quest. When accepting this quest, 5 lesser atlanteans spawn on the island automatically. You’ll have to find them all and of course destroy them. After doing so, you have to find that NPC again (It doesn’t despawn like Hecate Essence does.) on the island since you have to Quest marks in dark sea (I think?) and then interact with him. Unlike every other fighting style currently, buying Divergence Fist doesn’t require you to pay galleons.
It rather requires you to have at least 10 black shards in your inventory and 120 stat points invested into Strenght.
If you somehow lose this NPC or even die in dark sea, you won’t have to repeat the questline again after finding it once more.

Path 2:
Alternative to the Path 1 in case it’s not reliable.
Instead of a NPC, you need to find a Midnight colored Ghost with Aura of the same color. The difference is that this Ghost spawns only in Far Reaches (Insanity 3 and more).
It’s a bit similar to the Path 1, however, instead of killing 5 Atlanteans you need to destroy only one, however it is much stronger. After that the Ghost will immediately teach you Divergence Fist without any cost except Stat point investment, before fading away. You can find it again with the same 1/7 chance on another island, though.

Passives:

Divergence - This is a passive EXCLUSIVE to Divergence Fist. Each hit, when initiated will then burst and split into multiple glowing midnight ripples (bursts, or vortexes) which deal additional damage to the enemy in radius. Each burst deals only 30% of the initial hit. Those bursts deal damage to everyone in the radius.

Scatter - A status effect which applies the Divergence Fist’s bursts on the target, not on specific radius. Guaranteed hits. It can be applied only on specific attacks.

Shattered - A negative status effect which reduces damage reduction of the victim by 12%. This status effect can be applied only if your attack deals 20% of enemy’s HP or more.

Synergies:

Divergence Fist automatically applies “Shattered” on Frozen OR Petrified enemies, which clears the effect. Same goes with Charred, but with 50% less effeciency.

Deals 15% more damage against Drained targets.
Deals 12% more damage against Freezing, Petrified and Charred targets.
Deals 10% more damage against Frozen targets.
Deals 5% more damage against Paralyzed and Crystallized targets.

Techniques:

M1s - Each hit is kinda similar to every other fighting style (except Cannon Fist), however when actually hit a target, it will have the Scatter status effect for 2 seconds. 3 bursts, each one of them deals 30% of the initial hit’s damage.

Crash - The User leaves midnight vortexes behind him while flying, and when hit creates a lot of those bursts forwards. Increases the range of the attack in general. Each burst, however, deals only 8% of the initial hit’s damage.

Smash - When Explosion appears, it then creates 4 more smaller bursts which deal damage in their radius.

Rushdown - almost no changes except that it deals Scatter status effect which creates only 1 additional burst per hit an deals 2% of the initial hit’s damage.

Shot - After the main shot, emanates 4 smaller shots, each deals 8% of the initial hit’s damage.

Other techniques AREN’T affected, but rare Techniques are.

Passives:

Divergence - This is a passive EXCLUSIVE to Divergence Fist. Each hit, when initiated will then burst, pierce the target and split into multiple glowing midnight “bullets” with trails, i’ll call them “Midnight Sparks”. They are like missiles, homing into nearby enemies or flying back to the target if there are no more enemies nearby. Once colliding, they, of course, deal damage. Their homing and turn speed is not ideal and sometimes slow, so there’s a way to avoid them, and there may be situations where it doesn’t have enough turn speed to hit the target and starts to circle around it. Each burst deals only 20% of the initial hit. Those bursts deal damage to everyone in the radius.

Dispersed - A negative status effect which reduces attack damage and damage reduction of the victim by 10%. This status effect can be applied only if your attack deals 15% of enemy’s HP or more.

Synergies:

Dispersed status effect increases damage of every heat magic by 10%.
Dispersed status effect increases damage of Shadow magic by 5%.

Deals 18% more damage against Drained targets.
Deals 15% more damage against Freezing, Petrified and Charred targets.
Deals 12% more damage against Frozen targets.
Deals 8% more damage against Paralyzed and Crystallized targets.
Deals 5% more damage against Sandy targets.
Deals 5% less damage against Snowy targets.

Technique changes

M1s - Each hit is kinda similar to every other fighting style (except Cannon Fist), however when actually hit a target, it will pierce through the target, emanating 2 Midnight Sparks from the victim and targeting nearby enemies. If there isn’t any, then they will aim at the victim itself and deal additional damage. Each Midnight Spark deals 20% of the initial hit’s damage.

Crash - The User leaves midnight glowing trail behind him while flying. Once did hit a target, it will emanate 3 Midnight Sparks from him and do the same thing as described above. Each burst still deals only 20% of the initial hit’s damage.

Smash - When Explosion appears, it emanates 6 Midnight Sparks to the different sides, in random direction and then they collide with a surface nearby the initial Explosion. Colliding with a surface creates smaller explosion, each small explosion deals 15% damage of the initial hit. more smaller bursts which deal damage in their radius.
With Shockwave type, it increases the range of the Shockwave in overall. No Midnight Sparks appear.

Rushdown - This Technique is completely changed. Each hit of the Rushdown now creates a Midnight Spark which rotates around the user and the victim. Once User is doing the final strike, all these Sparks smash into the victim. The more hits are in the Rushdown, the less size these Sparks will be and less damage they will do.

Shot - After doing the shot, user also emanates 12 small and rapid Midnight Sparks which aim at the hit target no matter how much enemies are here. If didn’t hit anyone, they will just fly until they collide something.

Other techniques AREN’T affected, but rare Techniques are.

Why do I think it should be added?

In my opinion, Divergence Fist would be a very unique idea, starting off unique quest, NPC and the mechanics. Unlike almost every other Fighting Style it’s good at attacking multiple enemies at once, and unlike every Fighting Style it specializes in barrage attacks instead of normal 1 hit, which in overall increases the damage, however is weak against defensive enemies who either block a lot or have a lot of HP.
So, in overall, Divergence Fist is a fighting style which relies on high speed and size, but has weak damage as long as all the mechanics of this Fighting Style aren’t used properly.

Edit: Was bored, and I thought that I can improve this Fighting Style a little bit, since there was still something not like I wanted. Mostly all the text is copied from the new version but there are some changes in overall.

Vetex is not adding jujutsu kaisen

yeah no this is unoriginal as a style and never being added

Brother did not even try to hide it

what does this mean

vetex would actually be martyred for this

the way these are worded sounds like each one’s thing would have to be hardcoded rather than having a universal effect that can be applied to all of them, which i don’t think is how most of ao works; from what i’ve heard it’s mostly quite modular

we’re already getting powderfist as a delayed hit fighting style

do not the kaisen
also i hope you know powder fist is literally already AO’s divergent fist, it does exactly the same thing (secondary delayed impact)

How is this jujutsu kaisen tho–but alr

I see, i made this idea before reading the Powder Fist stuff in overall so I just posted it here… But oh well, maybe some people will actually like it lol.

It may resemble Dark Sea magic pollution, that’s what I was thinking about at first

the description is band for band something from jjk; a fighting style focused around delayed second hits by using “dark energy”, and it even has almost the exact same name

though the specific way you have the second hits work is a bit different, especially in the bullets version

this is just magic energy

Light Divergentlocks giving everyone cataract :money_mouth_face:

To be honest, I DID not watch JJK at all and when I was first thinking about this style I just came up with “Divergence” because it kinda resembles splitting stuff up, deviating them. I just like dark energy in overall.
No clue how did this happen, but Ig it’s funny. It’s not like I expected to have a succesful fighting style Suggestion at the first try😅

Edit: Plus, someone may actually like it

The Powder fist in question:

That’s fair imo

This is more-or-less just Powder Fist but a JJK reference. This shouldn’t have been made as a suggestion to begin with. I love the idea of creating little homing sparks though. Come up with an original style focusing on that as a mechanic.

Okay, people missing out on this one JUST because it is jujutsu kaisen, however i belive it is a very unique concept, executed very well, it would need some heavy balancing however, (probably a berserker only?) and most importantly the little sparks dealing a ton of damage, the speed is very high for a big style, and power is uh, almost as much as light magic, this thing is a beast LOL

so bascily, nerf, then i’ts perfect

also, people complaning about light diverglocks, uh, just make the style… unaccesible to them? also, nothing is wrong with having two delayed fighting styles, each one is very difrent, powder fist is probably more overpowered (until we see i’ts actual stats hahaha)

Bro, wym how is this jujutsu kaisen it’s literally just divergent fist lol

too busted
