Since Warlords have strength weapons and Conjurers are getting arcanium weapons, I figure knights should get a type called Divine Weapons

These could just be really simple weapons that were once used by gods, like poseidons trident, a spear/shield combo from athena or ares, a lightning javelin/thunderbolt thing from zeus, a bident from hades, etc etc

They could have like unactivated forms where they’re basically just the same as a regular weapon, nothing special, but if you imbue them with a relic from the same god (like tidestone band onto the trident) you could activate their godly powers and that be their sort of gimmick since strength weapons have the simple gimmick of needing strength/weapon reqs, arcanium weapons have the spell slot gimmick, these would have an inactive and active state depending on the imbue

Not sure what the obtainment of these would be, but id imagine some long questlines and/or spiritual journeys/exploration would be a cool way to acquire them

(First of all, please don’t murder me for showing my opinion)

Since knights have weapons and relics, do they really need another thing? I like the idea, but having only one class have weapons from the literal gods of Arcane Odyssey seems a bit unbalanced. I get that conjurer’s have arcanium weapons, but I’m pretty sure that mages can use them too. In relation to you saying that Warlords have strength weapons, I can kinda see where you’re going with this, but I dunno. This just feels unbalanced to me.

Maybe have knights have something similar to arcanium weapons, where they have a weapon that they can put spirit rites on?

since warlords have strength and weapons do they really need strength weapons? since conjurers have magic and weapons do they really need arcanium weapons?

they can be watered down versions even while active, just strength weapons are very strong right now and arcaniums have been said to make conjurers even better so really they should probably be fairly good for a knight-exclusive weapon type

yes, only the spell slots though

thats fair, balance is definitely something to worry about, but i didnt throw out any numbers just ideas so these can be balanced however

maybe but that doesnt feel unique compared to the other 2 class-exclusive weapon types

Fair points. What I mean with having something similar to arcanium weapons is:

Warlord has strength weapons, specifically for Warlord

Conjurer will have arcanium weapons

Maybe knight could have something like arcanium weapons (Spirit blades?)? Something like that. This way Knight doesn’t get the weapons of the gods, and gets something that feels a little more balanced. Like I said, it would effectively be the same as arcanium weapons, just renamed and for Knight class. (So basically, a Knight could find a Spirit Blade, which would have normal weapon skills, but would also be able to put some Rites on it.)

Also, I do like the creativity with the weapons from gods. I just feel like no matter how they were implemented they could be not great for balance. (For example, if they were too weak people would say that should be stronger, since they are weapons of gods. But if they were too strong, then there goes balancing.) But in the end, I’ve never made a game, so I’m not sure how these would best be balanced. This is just my opinion.

The concept is good, though like others I am a bit doubtful of having them be the actual weapons used by the gods

My arcanium weapon dreams were shattered this update.

cool idea but wasnt something like that planned for later

Something like this is already planned as spirit weapons (they’re probably the reason relics were renamed to relics from spirit weapons) which would probably work like strength weapons, there’s not much info on them, I think they were mentioned in the 2nd QnA.

Aren’t relic weapons already confirmed this is redundant

the issue with conjurers is that they don’t have enough spell slots to fairly utilize later game lost spells since they only have so many slots.

unlike mages who have 2 magics to work with and will presumably get a 3rd later on.

Arcanium weapons are supposed to help mitigate this by offering weapons that can hold some spells, making it easier for classes with 1 magic to support their singular magic.

Warriors/Knights do not have this issue because all their skills are derived from their weapons. They don’t need more.

If anything the argument would be made for paladins to get something since they have the same flaws as conjurers, but they have all the benefits of Rites that pretty much are magic with a bit extra.
