!this only applies to people with positive/neutral renown!
cargo repairs 400 durability (sources? the quoted text above this one)
cargo costs 50 galleons
thats 1 galleon for 8 durability
repair hammer repairs 25 durability for 3 galleons
thats 1 galleon for 8+1/3 durability
bronze repair hammer repairs double of that with double costs, so same efficiency
(bronze) repair hammer is more efficient than cargo
also the cash is in your inv so if you die you dont lose 2.5k cargo worth of galleons (you either dont lose any cash or you lose only a small percentage)
only use cargo if you really need durability fast just dont use cargo while in dark sea
why doesnt it apply to people with negative renown? because they steal and dont pay galleons
you gain convenience and bulk with cargo, at an extremely slight loss on efficiency (you’re losing ~16 durability per 50 galleons spent) which you probably won’t ever notice
and every 150 galleons (50/25 hammer hits, or 3 cargo) you earn 50 more durability from hammers. it’s negligible.
some extra durability is better than none
also i would rather having a slow and efficient repair than near instant and (slightly) less efficient repair + i wont lose 2k worth of galleons spent on cargo if i die in dark sea
Adding it to this because in most cases, yes. You should not be using cargo for general repairs, rather it should be used as an emergency backup if you get ambushed by atlantean ships while exploring islands or you do not have enough galleons to repair.
