Do people buy repair hammers from the marketplace?

they’re pretty good because you need them to upgrade the repair deckhand, but they’re also really easy to get.
so do people actually buy them from the marketplace or would it be a waste of money farming up a bunch to sell

i literally just go around and buy the hammers from the shipwrights

I see no reason to look for them on the marketplace

You could potentially make sales from a convenience angle, especially with the better hammers, but it will be slow. It’s a good idea to put them in the marketplace if you have space for it, it is better than nothing.

When I was going for Master Angler, sometimes people would want to fish with me and would want a good fishing rod, so I bought extra Bronze Rods to sell for a decent profit.

it’s just not useful since you can buy them for cheap at a shipwright
that’d be like selling clams on a beach(there’s no point selling them there)

Unless the beach is out of clams, and the nearest clam beach is too far away to be convenient.

yeah, makes sense.

well for sake of argument pretend there’s lots of clams on the beach

Yes, but the buyer has to spend time picking up the clams. You need 50 hammers to upgrade a shipbuilder completely, a shipwright sells 10 or 15, I can’t remember. It would be faster to go to the market to get the hammers. Someone with a lot of galleons may choose to pay more to get those hammers immediately rather than wait or travel to get cheaper hammers.

It is unlikely, especially since Metal Shards would be more difficult to get and someone looking to upgrade a shipbuilder would pick up hammers as they go, but it is better than selling nothing, and there’s always a price floor so there is not much risk.

or, maybe you could just travel to different towns and just buy more from the shipwrights
either way repair hammers are ridiculously easy to get in bulk

Alright, someone can spend 5 minutes bouncing between shipwrights to get hammers. I suppose that means nobody would be willing to buy all the hammers they need at one spot at a higher cost to save time, so we should leave the market slot that we were going to use on hammers open.
