ignore the one i made earlier i fat fingered the create topic button on accident, anyways.
im making this because i discovered something. you can literally make a conjurer that can use crash shockwave shot AND a strength imbue. the build in question is
160 weapons
120 strengtrh
70 magic
with this following build, you can use 4 MOVES on 2 weapons as of to my knowledge. (sunken sword and beast bone cleaver)
i myself am an avid sword step user and i literally cannot play without it, after i found out that if i just take it off my F key and put it on my Q and then put my flashstrike on F i can use sword step at 160 rather than 170.
so yeah, conjurer is basically savant now. slash just sucks on hybrid, hasta is mid and nobody uses barrier. one thing i feel like i should also mention is that i have never seen someone play an actual unique savant build. anyways poll time. Are Savants Still Overpowered?
yes, they still need nerfs/changes/adjustments.
no, they are just fine how they are right now.

if you said yes btw what do you think should be done? imo the imbues they have need to get nerfed or reduced to where they can only have 3 active at a time maybe.
canonically mage should be the objective strongest class because magic automatically puts you at a leg up compared to literally everyone else.
however, having an objective strongest class is stupid.
in universe, if you have magic and you train anything that isn’t your magic, you’re a dumbass.
that’s always going to exist unless theres a rock paper scissors dynamic (which AO does not have)
objectively savant is the most flexible class, it can use almost any weapon & skill, fighting styles are irrelevant so they dont need it, and they can still use some magics too.
this is what balancing is for.
if you’re going to tell me that finding the perfect balance is impossible and thus balancing is pointless, then don’t.
Mage is the strongest in lore since you pour all your focus into magic like this for example. Savants divide their focus up mastering none like calvus for example.
Obviously its impossible to find the perfect balance.
However, saying that balancing is pointless is outright stupid.
If there’s no effort put towards balancing, why even have classes?
Just give 4 way savant access to everything, delete the build stat system, tie everything to levels, and go ham like that at that point.
There’s no point developing distinct classes if one of them is perpetually going to be the objective best.
listen I already knew you weren’t the brightest person in the room but you did not have to tell me that your reading attention span is below 1 paragraph.
