Typically, I repair player ships whenever I see them, and help out with bosses if I can. Sometimes it gets me roped into long conversations that I’d rather avoid, though.
I’ve had someone tell me to leave when fighting Calvus before.
…Maybe it was because I was bad at fighting Calvus.
My most recent unasked act was repairing some Randos ship at dark pine, I don’t think bro even knew I had even done it
i remember i would see a broken ship and i would then start using my bronze repair hammer cuz i felt like it
I’ve been helped with Calvus & Maria when farming newer files, so gotta pay it forward (as long as I’m on a good file for it).
Maria is a pain in the ass in general though so I’m not sure I’d help someone with her even on my faster files…
I always do it.
If I see a player’s ship that’s in dire need of repairs, I board it and start hammering.
If I see a player struggling with a boss, I invite them to a party and carry them through it.
If I see a player in need of a specific item, I give it to them (unless it’s extremely expensive like modified arcanium, sunkens, and some exotic scrolls).
If I see a player getting ganked, I lend a hand (unless the fight started without my presence, in which case I won’t know who to help).
I also give away a free exotic meals or two after helping someone.
I’ll help with any bosses, randomly fix ships, and sometimes (only on my rich file) if I’m talking to a max-level player who I know doesn’t have a brig yet then I’ll give them 20k for one. In addition, if someone sends me a trade for something and says they really need it for their build/drip, I’ll usually accept, even if the trade is bad. Unless of course they’re really not giving me an okay price for it.
I hereby bestow you with the title of “G.O.A.T.” Yesterday I was on my Assassin file, and I saw a maxed player try to gank somebody. I saw a yellow tag above the ganked player, so I killed the guy trying to kill them.
The person they were trying to kill was Level 131.
I love bombarding unsuspecting sailboats with cannonfire and ultimate art blasts 
Bonus points if they have gunpowder barrels on board (or if you place them yourself).
I often donate galleons to people when they’re trying to afford brigs and will help with bosses but I won’t help with bosses if it’s really out of my way

like on the recent knight file i made i head up to the sky island occasionally for the sky pumpkins then head over to elius to see if anyone needs help, i usually kill the boss once or twice then dip
I once gave a player that I liked kai’s saber, so I guess that counts as helping
i used to jump on random people’s ships while they were guiding it and i would start repairing it
I helped two newbies with Calvus because I saw them getting absolutely cooked by carina and knew they’d stand no chance

I don’t usually go far out of my way to help someone, but I’m happy to help if I’m sailing and happen to see someone who needs to repair their ship, or needs help with a boss. If I really have nothing better to do, I’ll look for low-levels and ask if they’re new and would like some help going through the game
