I mean, I’m sure that Arcane Adventures took place in the colonial era since Cannons, flintlock weapons and common piracy existed. Even though Arcane Odyssey will take place after a month from the events of Arcane Adventures, do you think the war seas will have technology from the 19th or 20th century? Do you think the steam engine existed?
In my opinion, I think Medieval stasis sucks ass because you don’t get to have to see the world culturally improve to something much new or unique from the previous. I mean, medieval and renaissance-era weaponry can go aesthetically well in later eras I just think that other tech outside of weaponry can improve such as architecture and transportation.
Who knows, maybe other civilizations in the War seas can have a technological imbalance like “Sid Meier’s Civilization” for example but knows, maybe there might be a technological balance between towns or civilizations I guess to keep up the “War” they’re fighting.
If it’s going to be a bit much industrial, perhaps Steamboats and Ironclad warships can be a vast improvement from the original ships but who knows how different the war seas are from the Seven seas are.
If weaponry might change a bit, perhaps the six-shooter revolver might be an interesting weapon that fire multiple rounds faster than a flintlock pistol. It might use the same rounds though since the earliest revolvers did use ball-shaped ammo way back then.
Maybe there might be more to towns too such as factories to manufacture weapons, clothing and more.
Since guilds will be renamed into clans as well as the general outlook of the War Ages, it’s more likely that the place won’t be as advanced and end up being more… “Down and dirty” in terms of technological innovation.
I like the idea of this being industrial themed, however I expect stuff that advanced would be super duper rare due to almost constant fighting literally bombing the peeps back an age or two.
could happen, it happened with mainland/fifth sea with their use of steam power and increasing knowledge and application of electricity, the AG buying off their inventors to make themselves even more advanced
but they’re dead now, and war sea is on the opposite side of the world with people constantly killing and destroying each other, i’m not sure how far these guys have gone/will go
I doubt in a place where people are at constant war with each other that they have the time to build more advanced stuff since they’re screwing around all day killing each other while having a laugh while everything and everyone is being utterly destroyed
Yeah, your opinion reminds me of the lore of the game, “For Honor” because it has this renaissance and medieval stasis because of how busy mankind is over-killing each other rather than progressing.
