Do you think being a villain will be beneficial in AO?

I never progressed far into AA so idk exactly how being a villain was like, but in world of magic it would sometimes be beneficial to be a villain. Since the story was good vs. evil rather than just being a hero, it allowed you to really do it your style. You could do the evil storyline or the hero storyline. But since AO is based off of AA and not online fighting, do you think there will be a real reason to be a negative rep, or do you think it will be just a slight burden? There is mention of how you can take down kingdom ships in AO, but idk if that will be exclusive to evil people or if it’s really worth it. Who knows.

In AA the only thing that was different about being a villain was the navy attacked you and you had government bounty hunters tracking you down

It seems that in AA being a villain was just
have a bounty and be aggro’d by the Arcane Goverment

Prolly in AO will be the same?
unless AO’s storyline will have some alternate rutes???

the later will be impossible probably

Vetex said there will be one route with “villainous and heroic parts”.

I guess it might be beneficial if the Navy drops anything, most likely not. I imagine constantly getting jumped by bounty hunters will be annoying.

Ah thank god the storyline still has something to do with reputation
wait does that mean we’ll side with the war???
or
ok lets just wait and see

we dunno yet

In AA it was so annoying because wherever I went where was always a max level guy in the arcane government following behind me trying to get my bounty

Vetex said somewhere that the storyline will stay relatively the same regardless of you being a villain or a hero like it did in AA

In WOM the most beneficial part of being a villain is that you could kill any npc, so you could get both villain boss drops and hero boss drops as opposed to good reps who can only get villain drops and would have to trade for hero drops. Since AO has more or less 1 storyline, I don’t think this issue for good reps will be as prominent.

I can’t rlly think of any benefits to being a villain from what we now about AO so far

literally no difference in gameplay unless you had a bounty.

of course, they had exactly the same structure and both of them sucked

where did OF come into this again?

It’ll probably just be a slight burden at most. It would be cool if good/neutral reps had a quest to escort a trader across the seas, and bad reps would be able to attack the convoy for loot.

The GN is also gonna be a thing, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.

There is an advantage.

Chests.

Negative reps can open private chests anytime they like, and they can also steal chests from the Grand Navy, if they’ll have any on their ships. The only con is the Grand Navy itself tbh, but that sounds like a fun challenge that I wouldn’t mind

Maybe I’ll go negative rep in AO

Actually I find it much easier to Level up as a villain, mainly since you can attack anyone you want, including villains and also positive rep NPC’s You can also destroy cities which can give a good amount of EXP if you farm the magic council or whatever forces there are in AO to stop you

And we won’t have to worry about finding wanted shop owners, or going to some kind of black market

Yeah I’m def going negative rep, and I might even go a little “toxic” and start rk people.

Oh god what’s happening to me, I’m becoming the very thing I sought to destroy

Yeah, it’s such a relief not to have to search the map for wanted NPCs anymore.

Wait so everybody will still do business, even if you have a bounty? Idk again I didn’t get far enough into AA to know

It will possibly be a beneficial reputation in the way of getting (sealed?) Chests / Galleons really quick without actively hunting for it.
There is the certified chance that Positive Reps would hunt you down via Bounty. This guarantees Galleons to go right at your doorstep (assuming you are good) and get the occasional (sealed?) Chests, Foods, Potions, and probably even more without having to interrupt finishing your daily schedule which has everything but PvP.

What are you asking here?

Actually, no, bounty hunting is planned to be available to both negative and positive reps

I mean like, can you talk to alchemists and auctioneers (or whatever they’ll be called) even if you’re wanted? Cuz in WoM they will run from you if you’re tyrant or wanted. I would hope this doesnt apply to AO because it’d be annoying to not be able to go to an auction house or whatever because you’re evil

Yes, you can, and NPCs (except enemies) will all be stationary. No more looking for wanted metalworkers
