Now obviously this might seem a little odd but I kind of imagine it to be a synergy-based magic. When shot it will create vines on the ground that match their environment. Either these vines will provide minimal amount of self-healing or they will slightly slow your enemy when walked on.
Water - When this magic comes in contact with vines it will cause them to grow in size and expand up walls and the ground.
Metal - Will coat the vines, making them harder to break.
Wind - Can blow vines away, however, if the vines hit an enemy while being blown away by wind magic, they will damage your enemy.
Snow and Ice - Will make the vines give people a freezing effect.
Wood - Will create a tree that slowly pulses healing for you.
Poison - Will make the vines poisonous as well.
Magma, Fire, Plasma, Acid, Explosion, and Ash will burn up the vines.
I was also thinking this could have a status effect that, like crystallized, will slow you slightly when hit three times with the magic. This would also cause you to take damage from vines for the next five seconds.
There is magic that replicates some types of organic materials (i.e. wood magic) but I don’t know if magic would be able to replicate something as lifelike as vines. There is no actual plant magic, and magic doesn’t create living things.
the water thingy would depend on which water
if salt water for example, it will shriver up and die of dehydration
if its not salt water, then it would grow would also give water variations a use
also earth magic would buff it, making it more resilient against wind magic as the roots grow into the earth
