Does anyone else find the future power progression/awakenings super lame?

I mean it doesn’t seem that big of an issue. at that point of the game, both parties will have all 8 skill sets filled, and honestly, will there really be that much of a difference in movesets? how many of those lost skills are passive/ low priority skills like aura, and how many of those are meant to fulfill the same roles as others, like is there really a difference between magic 1 blast, magic 2 blast, magic 3 blast, magic 1 beam, magic 2 beam, magic 3 beam, etc.? in the end they all do the same thing

Then that sucks for you, plain and simple.
If you want to use a weapons build, you are expected to use all 3 weapon slots.

If you’re going for a Samurai theme then literally:
Katana + dagger/shortsword + musket/bow.

There you go, if you “dun wanna” then you’re just crippling yourself and that is not the game’s problem to solve.

Even back in AA times, you were still encouraged to use 3 weapons.

except the only reason why 3x weapons are required rn is because there is only 2 moves per. once every weapon gets their full moveset it’s all the same skills. projectile skill, aoe melee skill, maybe some get a blink with it, a grab skill, etc.
eventually the only advantage from more weapons is u have less cooldown. so is it really that difficult to set 1x weapon or 2x weapon users to the same playing field

No.
Not at all.
Even when every weapon has its full moveset, using every weapon slot will still be required to keep up with the attack diversity and utility other classes have.

One weapon gets 5 attacks, one fighting style/magic gets up to 7.

The main selling point of weapons is being super versatile.

Each weapon has a different playstyle. Don’t expect all weapons to have ranged skills, or cqc skills, or even viable ones. That’s the point of warrior-to switch playstyles on the fly. Select your weapons wisely to cover up for where they fall flat.

counterpoint the game should let me carry 3 greatswords frfr

ong let me use the same magic for all of my awakenings

what the heck do you mean “you can’t learn the same fighting style three times” SHUT UP-

Truly a Theos.

Each magic/fighting style can hold 8 spells/techniques, meaning hybrids will be able to have 16 skills in total with pure classes having 24 skills in total. Even when using 3 weapons with all 5 skills unlocked you’ll only have 15 skills in total.

So even with every skill unlocked, you’ll still have to keep up with 16-24 skills with your measly 5.

sure there is skill variety but there is no point in using them all. for example javelin, beam, and blast all basically do the same thing but cater to different magics. a metal mage for example is probably using beam or jav but will never use blast cuz it’s too slow. similarly, why would a poison mage use explosion when he can just surge you with 1000 intensity. And I don’t really see a problem with this? is it not fine that each weapon/magic has it’s own weaknesses and str, eg. metal mages want to hug you aggressively cuz they can’t poke and light mages want to keep distance etc.

Hey, buddy.

Those won’t be the only rare spells available in the future.

Neither will it be techniques, or any lost/ancient stuff. Every other build will use each and every single thing at their disposal in order to optimize their builds. Compared to warrior, they have much more variety, and that’s assuming if they’re using a singular weapon.

Having only a single weapon now sucks because your opponent can easily predict your 2-3 moves. Having a single weapon later sucks because your opponent has a lot more spells and/or skills to work against you.

Phoenix being scrapped would be such a middle finger to an iconic magic in AA. If sun magic is gonna (probably) make it into the game, then so should phoenix magic.

Being honest, I might be thinking of Prometheus being scrapped. As I have not looked at the lost/ancient magic list in a long while.

Promethean Flame was scrapped because it’d be too strong (being every Grand Fire Magic in one), and Mud was scrapped for unknown reasons. This was before the list are archived somewhere else on a private Trello (possibly added to).

If I had to guess, mud was either scrapped due to being too basic for a lost magic, or for being too similar to a pre-existing magic.

You mean something like:
3 slot max
CD of skills increase with the number of wpn/magic/fs you use?

I don’t know being an earth-shattering mage/warrior/berserker seems pretty cool to me, also the classes are based on their playstyle or at least what Vetex intended, Warrior is a mix-up class (meaning needs to 3 different weapons each having different skills from the other) so don’t expect to have any weapon specialization anytime soon.

Deepwoken sort of has the things your looking for though so maybe try it.

honestly im courios what the heck warrior second awakening is gonna be
