So for some reason the fandom was missing the scaling formula for pierce (I should’ve added it now), and while it does however have almost all the formulae for pierce’s different effects (damage scaling on armour, block penetration and all that, it’s missing all information about the way that the “armour pierrced” status effect scales
I feel like this is very relevant info because 200 pierce gives you a 5% dmg boost on players with 3300 max HP and 1000 defence, which doesn’t look that good, but if the armour pierced status actually does anything, on top of the block pen, that’s actually somewhat viable
I think that the status effect is supposed to reduce secondary stats on the target, so regen, haste, attack speed, range, size, armour piercing, resistance, etc, so anything that isn’t power or defence (also excludes stuff like insanity, drawback and warding.) will be reduced by a bit, I’m not sure if the amount scales off of armour piercing or the percentages of the reduced stats are.
armour pierced reduces your substats by the percentage of your pierce, so a piercing amulet would cause all your attacks to reduce the other person’s substats by ~32%
Wait that’s actually really strong isn’t it ?
Like halving your opponent’s substats seems powerful. It’s a bit of a shame that I’m only finding out about this in a meta where substats are this bad
Though even if they weren’t I do have to wonder how effective this would actually be. Halving someone’s size is handy, but it’s definitely not a game changer, and while doing the same for dex and range can definitely mess some people’s timing up but I feel like folks don’t often have enough of a muscle memory for that to really matter
You can probably justify it in team fights where nerfing an opponent benefits everyone, but otherwise, you need a major EP investment for the damage buff to be significant at all, which I feel is required for the stat to be worth it at all
Though to be fair 200 pierce allows you to hit for 75% dmg through block which is probably a far bigger deal than I think it is
I feel like 150-200 dex is pretty common though
But like going from 150 to 75 probably doesn’t make that much of a difference for 200 EP
that’s the issue with stacking a bunch of random bullshit on one singular stat, it’s easy to weigh if x amount of extra dmg is worth its EP, but it’s a little trickier when you have to consider x amount of damage, y amount of status reduction, z amount of damage on block, and so on
Imo they should buff both substats and pierce, not just nerf one or the other
