Does anyone know another obtainment method for pepper spices

chests ain’t doing it rn

Trading.
A guy sold me 50 pepper spices for 3000 galleons.

3k for 50 is crazy :sleeper: ( was hoping i could avoid trading)

Ship merchants/merchant deckhands should also be able to sell pepper spices since they’re uncommon tier, but just finding a player with a good stock and throwing a bunch of galleons at them until you have a good stock is way easier.

I can sell you my Peppers after I get home. Usually that’s 2:45 CST.

Brother

Why are you running a chef deckhand

Trading. There’s some really nice people that actually reject your desperate offer and instead trade you for something they DO want. I was offering 1 javelin, uppercut and pulsar, 2 hard scrolls and 3 different gems for 4 Topaz. Dude rejected, then sent a trade back giving me the 4 topaz for 2 jade pearls.

Like seriously, at some points I’m willing to give away my entire inventory to get my babygirl navigator deckhand with a siren top and casual style her notebooks and topaz gems.

merchant deckhand in question

Why must people inflate shit so badly? I just need 2 pearls, and the Galleon says they’re worth like 200 each, but nobody will take 500 for 2 pearls! I ain’t paying half of a brig for some stupid random drops!

If you need pearls just go into the dark sea, they’re absolutely everywhere on any island with sand shores.

I don’t even know how many pearls I have because I’m either making stuff with basic clams or golden pearls lol.

Then why are they so expensive now? Why’s everyone so stingy?

I have no idea lol.
I can usually get 3 or 4 pearls per island, maybe more, maybe less, the only reason I notice them at all is because they vaguely resemble stormsalt at a distance.

This is why.
Everything related to deckhands spiked in cost, and dont expect randos to know what that fucking piece of shit list says. Trade valuables for vauables instead of galleons for valuables.

Aren’t these “randos” the fucking aristocracy of the game though?

Also why the fuck shouldn’t I use the actual in-game currency to buy shit? I don’t wanna grind for a whole ass fucking sunken set just to get a white four leaf clover

Because getting even 20k is a lot easier than getting whatever is worth that 20k. If you want to buy from players using galleons, you will need crazy overpay, and even then some might not take it because they simply dont need the money.

Let me make an example: Let us say you want to buy 10 pearls, and lets say the galleon value is 100 per(unsure of the real price, so this is just simulated).
To you, 1k galleons for 10 pearls is fair, but to the reciever? 1k galleons is arguably a lot easier to get than 10 pearls.
Even if you start offering overpay like 2.5k for 10 pearls (your offered ratio from a post above), 2.5k is a decent sealed chest run, or a small cargo run, or in many other ways farmable.
Pearls, on the other hand, while still farmable, are now not just highly valued, the player might need the pearls themselves, either for deckhands or potions.
And even if you convince them the trade is fair or even in their side, what will they do with the galleons? Considering you barely made them take it, how will they trade it off? Even after all our speculation, the player recieving the trade would decline simply because he wouldnt have a use for galleons.

The tldr is in the beginning, but ill say it again: A lot of people prefer valuable items in hand than a currency that inflates every day and has almost no sinks besides upgrading/enchanting/disenchanting/repair(makes the inflation worse).

Free high tier food?
I mean thats how i see it , i run one cannonneer , one sailor , one chef and a repair crew

You necroposted KOS :rage:

if there was an option to make them forget their profession i would’ve already done it. literally only keeping that one under the cope vetex will someday make chef NOT dogshit :sleeper:
