Does Energy Regeneration affect passive regeneration or active regeneration?

I’m not sure if this was talked about elsewhere, but I was wondering if the energy regeneration stat from jewels affect your passive energy regen (that you get after awakening) or if it affects when you press shift to regen.

I feel like passive regeneration isn’t affected, but honestly I can’t tell

Passive regen iirc, which at the same time also makes shift regen faster since they lap over each other
