I’m an ice mage pure bursting build and I thought it would be funny to craft all my malachite (and 2 musgravite) gems with aeroplast to make myself basically unapproachable.
It says that the effect ADDS on +10% (+20% on musgravite) knockback so I assumed even though Ice doesn’t have any base knockback, the fact that it was additive meant I could get some semblance of knockback from these gems.
In practice though, absolutely none of my moves knock anyone back except for Surge (which has the same knockback as everyone else’s). Is this intentional game design and did I just waste my time grinding over 50 aeroplasts and tier IV luck potions to minmax this build? Or should I be seeing knockback but its just bugged or something?
I think that the way the additional knockback is added/calculated is by multiplying the magic/attack’s base knockback by a number (x1.1 for +10%).
So adding knockback gems on any magic besides wind doesn’t have an effect because no other magic has a base knockback stat to be affected.
I can’t say anything about Surge as I haven’t gotten a scroll yet.
Someone with more technical knowledge can probably explain this better.
I get what you’re saying but that would mean that it works multiplicatively and is useless for literally EVERY magic in game other than 1?? Seems very odd to be a feature.
