Because despite them saying they like diversity they fucking hate it. Warlords had 3 main build types
-focus on weapons
-focus on strength weapons
-focus on strength
All of these had a different stat build with 2 of them being mirrors (60/40) . This has been killed. Focusing strength was, all ready a bad idea before but doing it now means you’re using at best tier 2 weapons which feels bad. You wouldn’t be able to fund the basic skills for a strength weapon as the weapon costs are too high
50-50 is dead now as strength weapons are glorified weapons now, so you’re just worse
60-40 towards weapons is the only correct build now. You can use weapons and in the future you’d be able to use strength weapons again when we’re in the 200s weapon stat but why shoehorn every warlord into this build when this isn’t a true hybrid. You’re a warrior, with strength. Not a warlord
Also looking at the patches, what was the entire barrier reflex change about? Why was it necessary? It kind of helped at separating magics from each other, making them feel unique. Like yes it did suck having glass magic and having to suffer with the defense bonus. But instead of turning everything the same, they could’ve also made all of them different by the speed and distance each dodge goes. Glass who had the smallest defense bonus could’ve had both high speed and distance, ice could’ve had longer distance, etc etc,
It’s very obvious the balance team has biases against who they win/lose against, iirc Warlords were initially given the 65/65 nerf due to some defeating balance team members in elysium, indirectly leading to the intense unnecessary hate on moochezz, and then buffed to 60/60.
Lost Knowledge is getting nerfed because of its usage in PvP, indirectly leading to PvE’s variant being kinda useless due to the 2x energy usage and other potential nerfs, that just shows that the balance team do not care, if it’s good in PvP, then it needs to be nerfed so it’s average at best-
moochezz getting treated like hitler was the worst part of 65/65 incident, hes just doing his job as he was told to by the change that vetex approved ;/
Amazing how so many issues could be solved if we just hanged the BToyim…..although i’d still like some balance patches when something’s too damn powerful, so I don’t know…
It genuinely sucked, and was 95% at fault of the balance team, 5% from Vetex as he accepted it.
It shows that they don’t really give two shits about what their changes will bring, they act on emotion and disregard common sense, like in a PvE focused game; should something that takes a long while to get be powerful?[1].
They are getting more and more cocky with how they nerf powerful features into niches, PvE is getting so incredibly annoying to play when your build can change so much it’s nigh worthless, even magic as a whole feels redundant, as they are nerfing a bunch of magics whilst increasing cooldown of BLAST, the FIRST and most RELIABLE ability to a whopping 2x.
Blast is supposed to be the most RELIABLE and SIMPLE ability in the game regardless of stat build, it should be able to get you through the game, other spells are supposed to assist the damaging instead of replacing it outright.
I hate the balance team, there are so many people who do, they’ve hurt the main PvE side of the game so much and caused so much unnecessary hate and Vetex cares so little he vetoed the separate combat tags AND isn’t even in the Balance Team Discord.
