Dramatic Descriptions(for some reason)

Made some descriptions for a concept game I’ll never make

The Clockwork Library

The last relic of a greater age, the Clockwork Library was the last gift of the Forebearers. Separated from reality and empowered with magic, it would become a hub of wizardry, and it served that very purpose for a long time. Until one day, it froze, the once constant output of spells and innovation finally silent, with once stable magics outside breaking as well. Armies broke in, demanding explanations, but those that came out were scarred, barely alive, telling tales of horrific contraptions and unnatural beasts. To this day, we don’t know what happened, but we do know that those survive often come back with riches. Although you would have to be desperate to brave the labyrinth that is now the Clockwork Library

The Doctor

The Doctor lived a prestigious life once, she was a prodigy, forging her way to glory from a poor family She taught the ways of science, when the world was reeling from the loss of magic. She grew to be a welcome sight for the eyes of the sick, and perhaps her kindness was what led to her downfall.

She was infected, diseased, inflicted with the very thing she sought to kill had come to take its revenge. She tried everything, all her medicines that worked, and even those that didn’t. Running out of time, she turned to the Clockwork Library, one last chance to save herself, before death claimed her too.

The Duke

The Duke has never lived the life that he had been promised at birth. His very existence was thought to be a curse, although he had never done a thing to hurt his name. It was misfortune, really, just one year after he was born, his kingdom met famine, his mother dying to the riots. Seven years later, the plague had taken his father as well. Forced to lead a dying nation, he barely avoided to same fate for ten long years, before finally giving in to the insults of his followers. Exhausted and hated, he turned to the Clockwork Library, one last chance to redeem his name, before his kingdom fell to ruin

The Cursed

Perhaps one could argue his fate was his fault, a mere consequence of a hasty decision, but no one could deserve the punishment he received. He had always been rash after all, experimenting and researching long dead gods, hoping for immortality. His experiments caught up to him one day however, condemned to wander the earth forever, finally getting the power he so desperately wanted. Eventually, he turned to the library, seeking an end to his eternal journey
