ok wait i’ll editthis message with the list. applies to both men n women

Ok so here are my personal tips, remember to like. take whatever you want. Art is a personal journey.

Tips:

  1. STUDY!!! not in the textbook way. Study anatomy. How does the hand work? How does the neck bend? I use real images for this. And my own self. Just roate your hand and try to imagine it as a shape.

  2. Break it down. Simple. Break it down into shapes. If you try to draw a body for example just using the silhouette you’re kind of gonna shoot yourself on the foot. It’s better to imagine it as a more simple construction. Try boxes and cylinders. I have a very good video for this.

  3. Practice, always for yourself! Don’t worry about posting it or what people will say or whatever. Draw for yourself and yourself alone. YOU are the artist. Of course, if somebody offers criticism and it’s well constructed, it’s always helpful.

  4. Never be afraid to use references. DONT USE AI!!! Just real people. “Pose reference” “Person holding apple” “Person sleeping” literally whatever. It helps. Also art from others can help with inspiration and creativity. Always credit other artists.

  5. Lose the fear. Art is scary when you’re only just beginning. You see other artworks and compare yourself to them. NO!!! they too were a beginner once. Your art is your own. Be proud of it. Just creating is enough.

  6. IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE PERFECT. EMPHASIS. NOT PERFECT! Doesn’t mean you have to draw 2 lines and call it a day either unless it serves as a study, but don’t worry if the hand is off, if the eye is slightly tilted, the pose is a bit awkward… whatever. You’re studying. You’re practicing. And the fact that YOU managed to draw it is enough.

  7. Music. Music. Music helps with creativity. How does it make you feel? What do you imagine?

  8. KEEP PRACTICING!!!

  9. You’ll art block many times. You’ll end up frustrated. It’s part of the process. You’re not receding. It’s okay. It too shall pass. Just distract yourself, keep art away for a bit. Never force yourself to draw. You’ll make it worse. (Refer to number 5)

  10. It’s okay. It’ll take time. You can’t rush it.

  11. Just mess around ::wink:

  12. Forget everything; start your own journey, see what works, what you enjoy drawing, what you dislike. Always remember, you do it for yourself. Not for others. Draw because you want to, not because you’re forced to. The people can wait. Take your time. Have fun with it.

I’ve read all of these, THANK YOU for taking your time and writing down these tips that I’m sure will be very helpful in my art journey or whatever, I really mean it, I’m very thankful.
I intend to keep practing and stuff and will probably put all of these to some extent to use as i draw, I’m really glad you actually gave me helpful tips :sob:
also i only really try to practice/draw in free time so improving will probably be a very slow process

I wish you the best!! Thank you for reading through it all :heart_hands:

I bless you with the knowledge of drawing shitty stick figures (I can’t even do that right) may you give your foes an aneurism by looking down at those abominations

Draw what you enjoy starting out. The single most important thing to do is to have the motivation to keep at it, which is hard if you’re only doing what you hate.

If anatomy is fun for you (it is for me), then practice that. If not, then find something else to draw.
