Due to the success of the last deepwoken post I’d like to make a vote

Possibly give explanations for it as well.

Do you think arcane Odyssey will beat deepwoken?
  • Yes

  • Probably not
  • Hell yeah
  • Not even close
  • I don’t really know

Personally I think it will. By far.
It’ll be free
Has more magics
Story will likely go deep
Deaths here will probably hit harder than deepwoken
It’ll feel more like a horror game

Only thing deepwoken beats arcane Odyssey in IMO is land critters. Which isn’t really fair because arcane Odyssey isn’t going to have any npcs that aren’t bandits roaming the land.

Arcane Odyssey is a much more casual experience compared to Deepwoken

many playing it either for the story and exploration or the PvP can mind their own business in a consensual fight

Deepwoken is a much more punishing experience, and it just throws you a ton of information that overwhelm new players

This is one thing y’all have to acknowledge. Each game will attract different types of players who find personal enjoyment in the game they pick. While I’m willing to bet that Ao, upon release, would have more players than deepwoken, after a while, the player count may fall lower.

AO will 100% beat out Deepwoken when it first releases, not 100% sure about permanently tho

First of all: AO will probably release in like 5-8 months or around that point deepwoken will most likely loose a good chunk of players that are bored and have burnout, leaving mostly only loyal fans left (unless it has a massive rework). All of these people will be looking for a new, actually good, and fantasy ROBLOX game which is what AO is.

Second of all: It is way more accessible. It is free, There might be mobile support, It won’t have a dumb permadeath mechanic and will be much more fun to play for more casual roblox players, and (hopefully) it will be less laggy

Third of all: AO has a pretty good amount of hype surrounding it so i could see it getting around 30k - 70k concurrent players (possibly 90k at max)

70k is a stretch…wom peaked at like 20-28k or smth right? Yeaaah I doubt it.

yeah i doubt that it will hit 70k, i meant like at maximum
I believe that it will definenetly hit around 30k+ players though

not really sure how much hours of content there will be in AO so i dont really know

I really don’t now I will say the only thing deepwoken beats the arcane series that is usually PVE I love it however I don’t know what PVE gonna be like in Arcane Odyssey since I’m not a tester. Hopefully it’s not not ar npcs. However the story is probably going to be deeper same with the lore and Probably boss fights and other things I don’t really know.

At best it will peak probably 50k-30k kind of like deepwoken

70k is A stretch more like 50k The only way possible to 90 K is that it appears on the popular page close to number one has mobile support and a lot of players like it Which could happen but it’s unlikely but you never know

Frankly, they are quite different fundamentally. There will be players who’ll play both, but they generally will appeal to different audiences. Alongside that are many additional factors we have to consider, such as exposure.

And also the vote is naturally biased cuz we ARE on the AO forum anyway.

i said probably not because deepwoken was released first and dw fanboys will come swarming in screaming that we copied them. it sucks how things like this can happen.
Damn now I’m just imagining an epic war between weeb dw fanboys and chad ao players, fighting to the death bc dw fanboys think we copied them.

AO got a solid chance, its free, less punishing, and also got a storyline

more then 70k, I’m fairly sure most deepwoken players know and are waiting for AO. Plus as you said, it’s gonna be free, more new player friendly. Also deepwoken got 80k on release.

I feel like it’ll beat it due to the fact that it’s free, we’ll see what happens though.

I’ve heard some contrasting opinions about deepwoken, but there’s not too many doubts in my mind that AO can’t beat it in popularity, content or community…

When it comes to popularity, I think Deepwoken would win
but when it comes to playerbase, I think it would be more to AO, as it’s a much casual experience compared to Deepwoken

I mean, the PvP systems and PvE systems are already fundamentally different, and nobody can deny that deepwoken has some swag npcs

PvP is something I’m less confident in AO, however

I agree with you on this, but with the little pvp footage we have, and the testers even saying it’s “bad”, I have some hopes for the combat aspect of the game. It will certainly be unique especially with fighting styles and weapons being as viable as magic (according to Vetex I don’t know shit).

Straight facts, although I’m hoping Vetex can whip something up so it’s not as stale as the other games.

Sharks. Seriously The White-eyes will eat your soul.
