Dumbass cloud learns development

Gonna explain a bit of my game, and ask a little help.

Basically the puzzles are in some sense color based. so you pick up a color and that grants to a power and you can also mix that for certain puzzles.

Currently I’ve made it so that stepping on these color tiles give you that power but like it totally looks unnatural in this image so if anyone has any ideas as to how I can rework em then shoot me (not literally)

I’m not really experienced in game making, but i think making them into puddles instead of times would look better-ish

I tried like putting them into the ground a while back, it’s deffo better then keeping them out like that, I will do that incase I don’t really get any new ideas.

Imagine if a colour blind plays this

Thought about that, I can simply apply a texture with a pattern or text that helps color blind players

But what about blind players?

They should take the Oath called Blindseer, removes an entire flaw and also it’s pretty good for non-mantra combat.

It’s funny that a puzzle game is actually harder to make then I thought, I’m still going with it just reconsidering mechanics and how I originally wanted them to play

As a wise man once told me, If you are having a easy time making a puzzle then it probably sucks and I AM NOT HAVING A EASY TIME, that being said, stale development it is.

Having to be at my internship for 8 hours and adding the travel time which usually becomes 3 hours back and forth combined is tiring as hell, For whatever reason the area where my internship is has lotta damn rain and I keep getting stuck on heavy traffic. combined with the study it gets pretty difficult to keep up with development.

Last weekend I went ahead and tried to make a few levels which was when I realized how flawed/limiting my original idea was especially if I’m expecting to make like 6 chapters.

Originally the game’s puzzle was gonna be like linear, kinda like travelling down a line and doing puzzles but it’s very likely that I will change that into a mechanic where you got to collect certain items around a map to proceed instead.

My game’s story is the same but the game’s idea is subject to a rework depending on If I find it limiting or not.

I dont know anything about development BUT for the traffic and stuff you could try take a different route that is say 10 minutes slower but because of traffics its like 10 minutes faster it would shave off a bit of time ig and dont forget the internship is for a good reason in the long run so it will be worth it

My college kind of required me to get one on my year holidays so meh, I’ve gotten a pretty good opportunity and I also get a lot of freedom there cuz it’s a Editing Studio so it’s kind of like someone house then a office lmfao but the whole working under a corperation doesn’t really work for me, I’m only doing it incase I can’t climb a route where I get to earn from my hobbies.

Feeling really stuck, I have no issue with the concept and story but I’m having issues with the core mechanics I was planning to use for the game, that combined with a lack of motivation or time really isn’t helping my case. Been awfully stressed about it for a long time, not sure what I am gonna do or what I wanna do. Maybe I will consider working out the Skyforge rework instead But I am really unsure. No progress has been made on anything so far. I just need to think more.

happends to me more i switched projects due to dismotivation
right now im making slop and for some reason i added stuff that you wouldnt usually see in slop game
and i realised that i trully enjoy making this game
i had an simple idea that can be described in two words, i made a checklist and it was ready to have development done, although its still had intention to be a slop and take less than a month
you’ll see it soon or not tho

maybe it wont help you but just know you arent alone who experienced “trial and error” (read it as if it was some power limit that needs to be broken)

Rate the game idea (obby)
You go to space to explore abandoned outpost and you get jetpack eventually and it’s less of a “complete the obby” and more of a “explore and find secrets”

I feel like that idea could just be packaged into a explore and find secrets as the gameplay would feel messy if it abruptly changes everything, thou that depends on how it’s done

Decided that it isn’t really worth pushing too hard on something I feel dry on, Just gonna work on what I feel like just live i’ve been doing so far.

Currently I’m designing skyforge’s “Re-do” which will likely be named Expulsion due to those words having more meaning behind it.

I will be designing this game more in tune with casuals, not sure if i wanna rework mechanics entirely or just make it a polished version will need more thought

Hopefully THIS TIME i don’t just rework the background concept’s idea and stick with it

Roblox seems to be making it harder for Creators to enter into Roblox developing with good faith, I might actually reconsider using Roblox for creating games if changes like these happen. Currently working on music, decided to reduce the complications I’m creating on Fl studio by just practicing with Piano sounds so I don’t ruin my mental health worrying on using plugins
