So here me out.
Dungeons and dragons takes like 3 minutes at most to get anywhere. Because nothing interesting happens when walking. Now when talking to an npc it takes a bit longer. Finally combat takes forever to do.
Anime doesn’t take long to get places. talking to other characters is long. and combat can take an entire episode or more.
If you have a DM that sets up random events or other things when travelling between dungeons or towns which both take a decent amount of time to get through and are usually fun. Combat isn’t usually crazy long if you have a good party, depends on who you play with, how experienced the party is with D&D and how many people there are.
On the surface level explanation, D&D and Anime are similar yes but they have very significant differences that make them far more varied of experiences compared to each other.
Combat only takes forever if your table doesn’t know their shit. I swear the next time a player asks me what one of their spells does I’m going to ball their character sheet up and swallow it whole.
agreed wizards you have 3 rounds before its your turn. PLAN AHEAD!
As a druid I already know what I’m going to do in certain scenarios. Also my fighter in my other campaign just wacks. Sorcerers’ know what the y gonna do most times. But wizards. Lord help me if they spend 3 minutes deciding a attack. Just use Fireball!
