Durza's extinction blast

How much explosives would you need or how powerful of a bomb and where do you need to shatter continental plates, drown most of the world, and pollute the entire planet but not destroy it.

I would assume you would drop a bomb on a very active area prone to earthquakes and volcanos, but how powerful and where specifically.

Or just increase tectonic activity.

durza vs hydrogen bomb

well technically in order toi destroy earth it must have a destructive yield greater than the gravitational binding energy of Earth which would be impossible with current technological advancements but afew hundred nuclear bombs would be enough toi wipe out any land population completely it depends on if you want to completely destroy earth or just kill of all of humandkind

Tsar Bomba is the most powerful manmade explosive ever used. And even that wasn’t enough to do something like what you describe.

One thing that needs to be made clear here is that we can’t even drill all the way through a continental plate, we can only dig around 7 miles deep. For context, the Earth’s crust ranges from 3 to 43 miles thick, with oceanic crust being the thinnest points and continental crust being the thickest, especially around mountains.

I’m not going to math it for you, let’s just say that the power Durza displays with that blast is beyond anything modern weapons technology can compete with, period.
